  1. looking good Jim. how do you keep the kids from 'flying' them?
  2. thank you, I think it is the 'cleanest' build I have done yet. I did in fact use tin foil for the sides of the trailer, but used 3m spray adhesive. I was pleased with how that came out for a first try doing such a thing, and as usual learned a bit while trying it.
  3. I dig it, cool looking set. I also like the red on the trailer, nice touch.
  4. I agree, great looking truck.
  5. Alan, you build some dynamite looking rigs! another beauty
  6. thanks guys for the tips. usually I paint the body parts first, then start the motor/chassis. I think on this one I will do the chassis first so I can fit the body/hood and figure out what I am going to do from there [i.e. shorten the hood etc.] should have something glued together in the next few days, lol.
  7. so, as it's still pretty much in the box, any tips on this kit? I know the frame/motor is pretty well the same as all the other kits, but what do I need to look out for body-wise? it looks like there are body parts that get glued on at the end [per instructions], can I do all this first and still get the interior tub in? also looks like the cowl end of the hood is an odd shape compared to the cab cowl, does it all flow together at the end of assembly? just curious, as at this point, it looks sorta funky, or is it just me?
  8. thanks guys. I also want to thank everyone who gave me ideas and 'heads up' on things, i'll just make it a group thanks so I don't leave anyone out, but thanks to everyone for the help, and the comments. was a fun build
  9. looks great, nice combo
  10. Dennis, you sneaky son of a gun! nice build! sneaking it right in here with no 'on the bench; teaser shots that is an awesome looking truck, well done!
  11. wow, excellent model, you never disappoint, superb job!
  12. that looks amazing so far, excellent work as usual.
  13. on the few AMT kits I have done so far, I have been installing the hood first, then glue the cab onto the frame to match it up. thanks for the reminder though
  14. well, got 3 coats of clear on the body, and have 1/2 the interior done and the chassis as detailed as I can get it, making progress.. thanks for watching...
  15. where do I sign up??? cool looking stuff, and if priced 'reasonable' i'll be all over these.
  16. well, I was staring at my stash of kits wondering what to build next, when these two boxes caught my eye, going to be a day cab, color is yet to be determined, but trailer will closely resemble box art. stay tuned....

  22. thanks guys Jim, waters too cold still to swim [for me anyway, lol] you guys may be on to something with the 'smokey and the bandit' thing, Hobby Lobby has had some 2010 Camaro kits on clearance, may have to see if any are left and do a gold one.... Sean, I like the 'midas transport', may have to eventually make some decals
  23. Alan, !!! that is a great looking bunch of builds! well done, great job on all of them!
  24. outside in the sun...... well, it is officially done and in the display case with the rest of the fleet now to figure out what to build next................
