  1. nice find, I used to have a 71 ss, if you don't know about it, check out www.nastyz28.com great site for all 2nd generation Camaro's. heck of a buy for $250!!
  2. hi all, my first go at a truck build in a looooong time, I'm pleased so far, and learning as I go. nothing fancy, just a straight out of the box build [gotta start somewhere]. here is where I am so far, also have some of the interior done, have to fix one of the seats, paint got away from me a bit, but no big deal to cure. currently have the body wet sanded and in it's first coat of primer, will put it in the dehydrator in a little bit. wish me luck....
  3. that is incredible! great build!
  4. looking good so far, keep at it.
  5. thanks, I was thinking of laying it out with warp facing up, lay some weight on it, and hit it with a blow dryer until it warped in the other direction slightly, I thought maybe this way would bring it back straight after it 'relaxed'. my line of thought is it may react in a loose way to metal, I've had luck with bent metal by putting it in a press, going past 'straight', then letting it 'relax' back to a straight position. am I on the right track with this line of thought?
  6. thanks for the replies, I thought maybe I missed the mark on this, but thanks to you all, I'm feeling better about it such small bits to try to detail. I also did a bit of a two tone on the rest of the interior, the main color is tan, and I did the bunk blanket/pillow in brown, and made an attempt at painting the seat inlay 'squares' in brown as well to try to tie it together, will post pic's of that once I'm pleased with the outcome of those. thanks again for the input.
  7. hi all, I have several kits in line to build, and have started a revell w900. last night I gave a go at detailing the dashboard, looks ok to me [and once installed will never see the light of day again, but...], here is where I'm at with it would like to see more pic's of dashes of several different trucks for future reference, and any tips you could provide for painting these pesky little guys would be appreciated.
  8. hi all, I bought a 'vintage' moving van and the roof panel looks like the business end of a hockey stick what's the best way to flatten this thing out??
  9. any new news on these? I just got one from that auction site [most seem to go for right around $100 +/-], would love to get a few more if they were 'new' and slightly cheaper, lol.
  10. been a good week, something in the mail everyday seems like, these showed up today,
  11. that is too cool, holy cow, amazing!
  12. that is pretty cool looking, can't beat the price either.
  13. yup, having had a '66 a '70 and a '71 [not in that order], I'm sorta partial as was mentioned in another thread I was reading, they tend to breed at night, that must be the answer
  14. wow, that looks fantastic. very well done!
  15. thanks all, not much to report today, but managed to get the wheels on, got the bottom of the deck painted, and the rub rails painted. thanks again everyone.
  16. Gerry, thanks for the link, now I have yet another place to spend money, haha. got this in the mail today, the fleet is growing....
  17. lol, yes indeed. I had a 65 Biscayne with a small block, plenty of room for another one in there, also had a 66 chevelle with a big block, that was a little tighter, but still plenty of room to move around.
  18. nice start, but be warned, you will need a room before you're done........go ahead, ask me how I know.......[and I just started again too,,,]
  19. looks great so far, love that green!
  20. forgive me for asking a stupid question, but what scale are the tire machine and wheel balancer? those look cool as heck!
  21. I should also mention two things, the air chambers are all level/even, even though they don't look it in the pic's [must be my phone pic's] the other thing I want to mention is, big thanks to Jim B, he has been nice enough to put up with my constant e-mails asking newbie questions and graciously pointing me in the right direction, your help so far has been awesome, and I want to say thanks!
  22. well, after a 20-some year hiatus, I'm building again. I bought a boatload of trucks and trailers, and thought it would be wise to work into it slowly, so I started with this trailer. I spent about 2 hours on this little bit, but am pleased with the results so far. only downside, I didn't realize I messed up two of the air chambers until way after the fact, but I suppose unless you really look, you won't notice. here is my progress so far, Near as I can tell, I have it square/level, so with luck all the tires will touch the ground. I figured if I posted something, I might keep posting pic's as I go. currently have parts 'cooking' in the dehydrator, and have the deck and 'I' beams in primer [won't fit in the dehydrator, so will have to wait on mother nature], stay tuned for more on this simple build, and wish me luck....
  23. lol, the thought has already crossed my mind! I figure I can make the parking lot easy enough, it's making a decent looking building that has me flummoxed..
  24. this came in the mail today and picked this up at hobby lobby today with a 40% coupon
