I should also mention two things, the air chambers are all level/even, even though they don't look it in the pic's [must be my phone pic's] the other thing I want to mention is, big thanks to Jim B, he has been nice enough to put up with my constant e-mails asking newbie questions and graciously pointing me in the right direction, your help so far has been awesome, and I want to say thanks! -
well, after a 20-some year hiatus, I'm building again. I bought a boatload of trucks and trailers, and thought it would be wise to work into it slowly, so I started with this trailer. I spent about 2 hours on this little bit, but am pleased with the results so far. only downside, I didn't realize I messed up two of the air chambers until way after the fact, but I suppose unless you really look, you won't notice. here is my progress so far, Near as I can tell, I have it square/level, so with luck all the tires will touch the ground. I figured if I posted something, I might keep posting pic's as I go. currently have parts 'cooking' in the dehydrator, and have the deck and 'I' beams in primer [won't fit in the dehydrator, so will have to wait on mother nature], stay tuned for more on this simple build, and wish me luck....

lol, the thought has already crossed my mind! I figure I can make the parking lot easy enough, it's making a decent looking building that has me flummoxed.. -

ya, forgotten treasure, lol. I was talking to my son this morning and he says I should have more stashed away in boxes wrapped in shopping bags.......maybe i'll hunt around more tomorrow up there and see if he's right....... -
So, I have officially deemed myself an idiot. I haven't built a model in a very long time, so I decided to get back into it, and have been stocking up on big rig kits, paint and supplies [and reading this forum a ton]. I decided on big rigs, as I knew somewhere in my attic I had a 1/25th Wilson livestock trailer that was un built, and was my grandfathers that he bought new 'back in the day'. So yesterday after I got home from work, I decided to dig out the trailer to put it with all the other trailers I have. I get up in the attic [which looks like an episode of hoarders] and get looking around. I find the trailer in about 2 minutes and set it aside, all of a sudden, I spot another model box behind a pile of other stuff, so I take a closer look, and find these.. these have been up there so long, I completely forgot I had them! I guess when my revell auto transporter shows up, I don't have to buy anything to build to put on it, lol.

How to start a Model T
tbill replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've been lucky enough to work on some old stuff at the dealership I work at, nothing like a hand choke, mechanical brakes, and the starter button on the floor! then there's adjustable generators, tightening the water pump packing etc.. my favorite is probably the lack of oil filters on the early stuff. finding a good power valve that won't leak seems to be a challenge in itself at times. i'm a chevy guy, but nothing sounds so nice as a ford flat 8 cranking over......, well, maybe the sound of it running thru headers and some porters...... -

I've been stocking up, as I am getting back into this after a loooong hiatus of building, I had to start from scratch supplies-wise. Things are looking good though
