  1. Ray, That model looks great! The paint job looks great too. And, yes it looks very, very close.
  2. Ray, Moulin Rouge and Panther Pink are the same. I think Moulin Rouge was Plymouth and Panther Pink was Dodge. I know it's hard for camera's to capture that color accurately. So, if the color on the spoon as shown reflects the actual color then it is not a match for the aforementioned colors, but, if in person it looks more like what Ron posted then it is pretty close. Like John said, Testors shows Panther Pink as 'available' on their website in 3oz spray cans, I just checked. Here's a thread with a whole bunch of info on these colors: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=81809&hl=
  3. Thanks Ron, bummer on the tires, but, it's part of the modeling experience. I thought about the gasket sealer, but, nah. I'll probably end up using super glue, or , regular Model Master glue, I'll do some experimenting with the Aleene's Clear Gel. I knew there had to be something simple to this. thanks Mike.
  4. That exhaust system is very cool, I can see why you would want one. PM sent.
  5. Ron, I'm laughing with you, not at you! I thought all this through and decided against the Goo. I've got an extra old set of those slicks if you need them, they're not perfect but you should be able to clean them up fine, they're already glued together. PM me if you need them. I'm gonna try some stuff I got at HL the other day, it's Aleene's 'Clear Gel Tacky Glue' it came in a pack of 5 little bottles with 4 different types of Aleene's glues. I'll post the results. If it doesn't work out I'm lining up other options.
  6. Looking good Tommy, that engine looks great!
  7. I'd paint the enamel first as well and let it dry well, (couple of days) and then try the acrylic. Your flying monkeys don't scare me!
  8. That's cool Ron, I like it!
  9. I'm glad you did Peter, this T-Bird is really, really beautiful Hey John, what do you mean, " with apologies To Billy Gibbons?
  10. Tyler, sorry I wasn't more helpful, I really didn't understand where you where at with this. Follow the build sequence that the instructions show step by step in the order shown, that will help. If you have any questions in the future I'd be glad to try and help. Keep building!
  11. Thanks Sam, I think with a good primer you should be okay with the Fusion, just do some experimenting on some spare parts and see what happens.
  12. It comes in some really cool colors and big cans that don't cost that much when compared to model paints. It actually 'bonds' to the plastic, hence the fear of using it on styrene. That fear being (I guess) that it will 'melt' or 'deform' the plastic. Before I knew about it I used it on a car without using primer and everything turned out okay, maybe I just got lucky. I have some more of it but have been afraid to use it from all the stuff I read on here. I need to do some more experimenting with it. The photographs suck, but , you can still make out the basic paint job. Here's the car: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/?showtopic=82159
  13. Hugh, I think you are absolutely right about the name of the stuff. 'Sole Repair' well I was close, I've used it on tennis shoes with rubber soles before, it's worth giving it a try.
  14. David, I like the car, but , I don't see a steering wheel?
  15. Great job Bruce, looks like a real racer. Clean and crisp, the bonnet even sits right! What's your method for doing the two tone wheels? They look very sharp.
  16. It looks like it could be amphibious.
  17. Very nice Shane.
  18. Wow! Yuri you're killing us here, that is stunning! Your work is inspirational. Thanks for sharing this.
  19. Glenn, you've created a new class of cars, GGG , Gasser Grocery Getter! I like it! Even the pictures you took work with this car, "You can't hide the beauty of a Nomad '55!
  20. Very nice Mike! I've followed several of your builds, this is the best so far! Your progress as a modeler shows!
