  1. Just wondering if anyone else from here will be attending this event? It will be held at the Overland Park, Ks Convention Center which is in the Kansas City, Missouri metro area. General admission begins at 9am Sunday June 8th. More info is available at the KC Slammers website.
  2. How long should you let straight epoxy cure before sanding?
  3. Thanks Carl! I should have the engine complete here in a couple of days. Will post pics.
  4. That is awesome! I love all the info you provide on your website about the car and it's history! Really beautiful car Sean!
  5. Anthony, those round Mopar air cleaner decals can be a 'real' bugger, I failed on my last attempt to get one to follow the air cleaner top contour. You can apply 'decal setting' solution all day long and it's still not gonna work. It was pointed out to me by someone on this board that the trick is cutting the decal evenly into 'halves' and then applying them. That's what I'm gonna try on my next one. You put a lot of attention to detail on this build, and it shows, we all improve with practice, progress, not perfection. Your next build will reflect that progress as you keep building. You're already ahead of the game with the way the paint job turned out, keep up the good work! I love '68 Chargers!!!!!!!
  6. Thanks Bill. Here's the photo I used for my final reference shot. I printed the picture and sat it in front of me on the workbench. I also used epoxy for the first time to glue the magneto cap on, worked great.
  7. Ok, here's the engine wired, correct firing order, it should be anyway. Everything is from the kit except the wires, looms and boot material, those are from Detail Master. Thanks to everyone who posted in this thread! Bill, you are the man! This wouldn't have happened without your help, thanks!
  8. Hey everyone, here's the latest progress shots. The engine wired, correct firing order, I hope! At least I think it is! Everything is from the kit except wires, looms and plug boot material all from Detail Master. This is only the third engine I've wired in my life! And I made it a real bugger because I didn't start by putting the wires in the magneto first, I started from the other end, yikes! Don't do that! Well, I intended to but things changed, lol. There's also a shot of the hand break lever, I had to replace the main part of the handle with some craft metal wire because I broke the plastic part. The headers still need some weathering, then it should be install time. Thanks to everyone for the help on this. Jeff and most certainly Bill, without whose help this wouldn't have been possible, thanks!
  9. wow, thanks Mike, it just gets deeper and deeper. I've got some pretty tall waders though.
  10. Aaron, (not many names start with '2' A's) I think that one reason might be that you can get the consistency/weight that you want dependent on the amount of microballons you add, this makes it (epoxy/microballons) very versitile. That's my take.
  11. What a cool looking car! Looks great.
  12. Nice looking build Matti, those colors are awsome!
  13. Nice job Mike! That color is beautiful.
  14. I think it could use a little more chrome. No really, that is so good I am stunned! You do prototypes for Franklin Mint right?
  15. Very nice looking model Tom! Glad you finished it. '65 Impala's are soooooooo cool. And like Lee asked, what is that color? Thanks.
  16. Believe it, or , not I have the 392 wired correctly. What a job, since I made the mistake of connecting the boots/wires to the valve covers first and 'then' connecting everything to the magneto. I'll post some pics in the next day or so. Gene.
  17. I think I've got ' a little ' intelligence so maybe I'll give microballons a try 'cause it sounds really helpful. Bill, do you wear a mask when you use the stuff?
  18. Thanks Aaron, I tried it tonight and used very small (think shot glass!) plastic cup, worked fine.
  19. I like the bug.
  20. That's very cool John, I like it, and not just because I have a '64 Valiant either. It's very 'car'toony, that's why I like it. You should go to that coffee shop often.
  21. I voted real, wow, incredible.
  22. Scenes Unlimited has some resin Torque Thrusts I've got some of his Mopar steelies, very nice. And he has two different variations of Torque Thrusts.
  23. I think I'll be going to something like that soon Nick. From what most people on here say that's the way to go.
  24. You're welcome. Her name was Doolie, she was my first cat. She was awsome.
