  1. I love this project and have been wanting to do something similar for some time. I love Mopar's of this vintage even though when I was young I thought these cars were ugly, I don't see them that way now. Nice score on the grill! I'll be watching this Tommy!
  2. The AMT double dragster kit has those valve covers for a 392, I'm working on one of those engines right now, very cool. Someone probably makes a resin version of those valve covers, don't know for sure though. That would be a cool build, hope you pull it off.
  3. Jim, it's very possible that the problem is me I'll give it another try today, thanks for the reply!
  4. Thanks to everyone for the replies. Is '5-Minute Epoxy' a brand, or , just a type? Which leads to..., What are the good brand(s) of both 30 and 5 minute epoxy's? And what is microballon? Never heard of it. Thanks.
  5. Jim, I just looked at my tube of Tamiya white putty. I can't imagine there being a problem using their primer since on the white putty tube instructions it says you can 'dilute' the putty with Tamiya lacquer thinner and I'm pretty sure their primer is lacquer based. From what I just read on-line it sounds like your problem may have something to do with 'curing' time, which can be eight hours, or , longer(?) to fully cure, it doesn't say on the tube how long curing time is. Let it sit overnight before priming and see if that doesn't 'cure' the problem.
  6. I've never used epoxy for modeling before and would just like to know where people use it and why. Thanks.
  7. I bought some Excel light duty #13 saw blades and none of the handles I have (3 different types) seem to be the correct type. They have teeth all the way down the blade and no place to attach itself to a handle. I didn't notice this when I bought them., seems weird to me. As in the following link companies that sell the blades list handles that are 'supposed' to work. I've got two different Excel K1 type handles and a different type x-acto. The blades won't even go in the K1 types and the x-acto will take the blade but will not tighten. Help! http://www.widgetsupply.com/product/BEN08.html BTW, Widget Supply is well worth checking out, they have LOTS of stuff at great prices AND free shipping over $25! And no, i don't work for them, bummer.
  8. Is this kit still availible? Great work Pat! You are an arteest!
  9. Ryan, that rust is down right 'ratty.
  10. VERY interesting thread, love the Jags! What great cars. Keep it going Jeremy!
  11. Dennis this is great! I like the round lenses better than the coffee sticks. I think Richard's idea is worth exploring. You're off to a really great start on a great idea, stay with it.
  12. Brizio, thank you for sharing this, not something I will soon forget.
  13. This is no longer a 'yuppy' wagon, now it's a 'giddyuppie' wagon, for those days when time is of the essence.
  14. Very cool inspiring build Brian, thanks for posting! That last photo is a stunner!
  15. I like it. That would blow some minds 1:1
  16. What a great thread!
  17. Cool story JC. As it happens I'm sitting here looking at a Revell USRRC 427 Cobra kit (# 85-4149) I got back in '99 wondering when, or , if I'll ever build it. Not for a while yet, but I will build it, just want to polish my skills a little more before I do.
  18. Cato, I love what you say here! I had a conversation about this very thing with a friend of mine several months ago. I tried to explain to him the difference between the 427 Cobra lore of 'not handling well' vs it just requiring a more experienced/informed(seat time) driver to get it to do just that. The former implies elemental design flaws preventing it from handling well no matter the variables, as you explain so well this is/was not the case. I'm still not sure I convinced him.
  19. Steven, that is so cool it is mind boggleing. I just sat here saying, wow, over and over again.
  20. Nice cars, killer paint job's!
  21. The fit on certain sections of this kit is sooooooooooooo bad I'm having trouble staying motivated. It says " new tooling" but there's still a lot of '1961' AMT in this kit. The engine is ready to be wired and the headers need weathering and then it's ready to install. Ok, I'm finished whining. (Condenced version)
  22. Clean looking '32 Ford
  23. Nice build Paul, nice paint job and great save on that windshield frame! Who is Dean Jeffries?
  24. God, that is a REALLY COOL kit! I'd buy that for sure.
