    Great build and I am so glad your dad got to see it completed! On a side note, I am not sure how those guys shifted gears in those trucks with the giant balls they must have had to drive them! Holy smokes!!

    I heard these Colts were absolute terrors to drive. Very unpredictable, but what would you expect with that short of a wheelbase and stupid amounts of power? Great topic, I look forward to seeing the finished result!

    I built this same model for my Mom (her and Dad had one in the 60's) and had the exact same problems you described. You did a nice job!

    Sure do! I bought this car back in 2003 and have spent quite a bit of time and money bringing it back to life. I normally am a purist when it comes to engines, but I am really tempted to sell the factory 400 (rebuilt) and put in a nice fuel injected LS motor out of a late model GM truck.

    Nice job! I had the pumper truck years ago and just did not have the patience to finish it, can't imagine how much longer this beast took to build!
