  1. I only just realised there's a few key bits missing - doh! so I guess it's not quite done yet!
  2. That must have been an eye-opening job! Yeah, I heard that the camera was (was being the operative word!) worth £40k. The audience loved it of course. The show carried on with feeds from the other cameras that were at a more respectful distance.
  3. To go even more off topic - we saw Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros at Glastonbury - there was a massive overhead camera on a boom above the band, filming for the big screens around the stage, which kept getting closer and closer to Mr Strummer 'till in the end he picked up his 'mike stand and smashed the base into the lens. All the big screens fickered and went black... He had warned them... Still. looking forward to your presentation! Cheers, -Don.
  4. Sorry about your tripod disaster. Made me think of a scene from War of the Worlds....? Thankfully it didn't land on the Hooper works.
  5. Great 'bike. Could be a 1:1 with the right background. Well done!
  6. The bonnet (hood) does look a little longer than original!
  7. Well it did make me laugh!
  8. Nice lateral thinking. Reminds me of this:
  9. Ouch! I hope you weren't travelling too fast when it happened. Once I'd just overtaken 3 cars on a country road at night when all my electrics shorted out. I slammed on the brakes and aimed for where I thought the road went. Once I'd stopped, luckily in one piece, the 3 drivers I'd just passed made their opinions of me quite clear as they drove by! Turned out to be a screwdriver that had worked out of the tool compartment and welded iteself between the live terminal and the car body. I knocked it clear and all was good.
  10. ?Fools and children shouldn't see things half done!. Thanks for your answer, Mike - keep up the great work! Cheers, -Don.
  11. Hi I don't build dioramas (OK I don't build much nowadays!) but I really enjoy looking at them. But here's a thought - is a diorama ever 'completed' in the same way as a car or truck build? Seems like by their very nature they are constantly evolving in the telling of a story, so like the Forth Bridge they are always 'In Progress'. Maybe that's why there aren't any in 'Under Glass'? What are your thoughts? Cheers, -Don.
  12. That's part of what's great about this forum! If you think that was interesting you might enjoy this, cheers!
  13. Palmer 1:1 Trans kits. Ferrari 512 TR: Amaze your friends! Make your own in minutes, no glue or tools required, From this: To this:
  14. Hi Ron I did wonder, it didn't sound like your kind of comment! In the good old days he'd have a clip round the ear and be sent to bed with no supper! Or of course here in the UK they'd send them up the chimneys as sweeps to keep 'em out of mischief! Cheers, -Don.
  15. I'm sure your complaint will be treated with the respect it deserves considering these men and women are putting themselves at risk just so we get our mail delivered. Theres a news article today in the UK about the rather sad restricted access funeral of a postal worker who has died of Corona virus.
  16. Good move, Jim! You may have just saved a scale model life!
  17. ? Sorry to be dull - what's up with being a Lotus dealer now in particular? The Siata 208s is a genuine original beauty. Hard to beleive the Siata Spring is from the same company. And the MG TF - ah yes, there is this beauty too (not as far off as your example, in fairness). The Gentry:
  18. If you like to run or ride a bicycle maybe you could fit one of these to improve your breathing:
  19. Starting to feel like part of a team again on the second day of my new contract despite us all working from home and meeting on Skype only. A few issues with connectivity and access to the clients website from my own computer, now sorted - and a bit held back on some things until my work laptop arrives here but so far so good! A bonus is not having to fill up my fuel tank twice a week - and my insurance company is giving me a £25 refund per insured vehicle due to the sharp drop in accident rates on UK roads.
  20. The poor little Miata has had to suffer from several other misshapen blobs of "interpretations" or "re-creations" being mercilessly stretched over it. I know it's a good car with many fans but the Miata in itself is a mild example of Palmerism: Lotus Elan Sprints: Miatas:
  21. I like it. It would be quite a widowmaker with all that extra power and torque feeding through those notoriously evil swing axles that made the rear wheels prone to extreme camber change and sudden loss of grip! One for the brave and skilled!
  22. '...gutted of stereo, climate controls...' Yes I can see these would be of limited use in this machine, especially the latter!
  23. It ain't so. Painting it blue with white stripes and calling it a Cobra doesn't mean it is one even with the nerf bars and the dinky bumpers! Just plain misguided!
