  1. Cool project! Lookin' forward to the rebuild Pat! Nice lookin' shop BTW! Where'd you get it at?
  2. Man that finish has a purdy shine to it!
  3. I did just that Mike. Thanks for the encouragement. I will say that I've spent some time today thinking about what's different and I think I have an idea what it is. It'll be a bear to fix but I think I can handle it ok.
  4. First off, Happy Fathers Day to all you dad's out there. I hope you all have a great day today. Secondly.....................I'm now stumped. I've had this body on and off this chassis twenty or better times now making sure everything is ok. Now that I'm this far the dang thing won't go on all the way. I haven't reached that throw in the towel moment or anything yet but this is pretty frustrating. I shelved it for today and will approach with a new outlook tomorrow. Man........you gotta love this stuff. lol
  5. Now this............I've gotta see!! Bring it on J.C.!!
  6. Looks good so far Jonathan. That's quite the detail on that engine OOB.
  7. Thanks Jeremy! Good to see you again! Thanks Rich! Speakin' of which...... I've got some work to do but here she is in primer:
  8. Where'd it go? Looking forward to seeing it.
  9. Neato!! Nice start!
  10. Thanks Randy and Carl! Well here's the body all washed up and ready for a primer coat to fine tune all the body work. Hood hinge openings are now filled in.

Man that's one nice ride you've got yourself there Terry! Wow! That color looks great!!!
  12. That's a good lookin' car!! Is that backlighting on those IP gauges? I remember getting one of those cars in my stall when I worked in Dallas at Vista Ridge Pontiac. Of course at that time all the bolts and nuts on the whole intake setup were rusted in place!! Really great looking build there Paul!
  13. I like that color! I was up in San Antonio yesterday and was looking for this color and couldn't find it. I may have to end up ordering it. Say..............Is that a kitchen table for the workbench? I'm facing that possibility within the month. My wife invited our niece to stay with us for a bit.
  14. and I re-endorse it another 100%!
  15. Thanks Mark! Yes siree it works pretty good. 'Preciate that Dave!
  16. I like that shade of blue on that chassis!!!
  17. Been there...............done that! Hang in there Rob.
  18. Thanks Carl! As it turns out I may not need the spare door as I was able to get it out of the opening in one piece. Progress pics... Mold/Seam lines present: Mold/Seam lines gone..... I've got a little bit of sanding work to do to repair the bottom of the door and to smooth out all the edges of the door as well as the door opening but it looks like it'll work fine. It's funny about that thread trick. Never thought thread would cut this stuff.
  19. All this fab work on that car body is turning out great Rob! One day I hope to be able to do stuff like this and make it look as smooth as this.
  20. No prob there Kevin. I'll be going with the box theme. Black with reprinted OOB decals.
  21. Thanks Lloyd and Jim!! Man you've got that right on the POJ kit there Lloyd as this thing is giving me a work out with my least favorite part of building.......bodywork! lol . I've been in Kansas for the last week and took the body with me to clean up all the seams and mold lines. I ended up smoothing them all out, however while I was cutting the rear door out with sewing thread I got off track and cut into the dang door! I've got another body if I need a spare door though.
  22. Man that looks clean!!! I love this stage of a build as it's a down hill slope from there...................unless I've got a lot of sanding and buffing to do!
  23. Man what a finish on that one!!! Beautiful Vette!
  24. Thanks Nick! John: I hear you on the "moldsteps". LOL! I appreciate the encouragement on this beast. I'm going to finish it one way or the other. I'm getting ready to go to Kansas for this next week. I'll be taking the body with me with some clean up tools in order to keep progress moving along but I decided to post some of the progress since Friday. I did manage to smooth out a lot of the mold line issues on the whole front clip. For instance, the mold lines on the top of the fenders are now gone and I'm filling in those nasty hood hinge cut outs: The upside down "L" 's are gone from the front of the fenders on the sides: and the disgusting seam line between the headlamp opening and the hood line are now gone as well. Still got some work to do to the hinge openings but here's little bit more clear view:
  25. I've been missing the updates on this one.......
