  1. Change of plans for me as I will not be selling but plan on going to look for a few kits, parts and check out the contest and full size car show. I'll be around Allen Hilton's table which is near the overhead door facing the contest. I'll be wearing a black sweat shirt with an AMT 25th anniversary patch on it. If you see me say hi. would like to put faces to the names here on the board.
  2. Up for trade is an original AMT 59 El Camino needing some TLC for unassembled AMT mini boxes from the Retro series of kits Would like to get at least 15 unassembled AMT mini boxes for the trade. As you can see the roof is detached but fits well as it was a fairly clean break. Front of the A pillars will need some putty work, Glass will need polishing as there are very slight scratches in the windshield. Steering wheel has a repairable split rim. Spray bomb orange peel paint. Missing RR taillight and front bumper/grill. Whitewalls appear to be painted and has all four dog dish caps. Prefer trades to the lower 48 states. PM me if you have any questions.
  3. My haul from the Salisbury NC swap yesterday . Had a really good day selling so went and spent part of sales $ on some kits. original AMT 59 El Camino with broken but repairable roof & missing front bumper & taillight. May be up for trade once I figure out what to ask for in trade. 58 TBird promo body, slightly warped in the rear. Should be able to refit rear bumper. Bottom of interior cut out.
  4. I reserved my table at the Salisbury show yesterday. Contact Dennis 8 foot Vendor tables are $25.00 each. Vendor set up is at 7:00 am. For additional Contest and Show information please call: Dennis Smith (540)-629-4539 - eastsmith1@aol.com
  5. One of the best Salisbury swaps for me selling and buying. A steady stream of customers that lasted until 12:30 so from the 8AM "Early Birds" to the 9AM regular admissions. Next years swap will be 2/17/2024
  6. As far as I know this is the only swap meet for NC in February. Close to 60 8 foot tables of models for sale, a definite do not miss event.
  7. My scores from the Salisbury NC swap meet today. I was setup as a vendor and did fairly well with sales so.... The 72 Chevelle, 70 Buick Wildcat & the 40 Ford SD are all sealed in original bags. 37 Chevy is factory sealed. Bought 8 plus sized used display cases for a few dollars over what a new standard display case is selling for now. Also found a complete NOS Parma 4 inch FCR chassis. Got one of my "Holy Grail's" with the 62 Galaxie! Very restorable but missing the firewall, rear glass, steering wheel and the fender ornaments. Going to try using the fender ornaments from the 61 or 63 Galaxie, if not I'll fill them in and do a mild custom. 40 Ford box is near mint plus it came with the unobtainable original headers and coned wheel covers with near perfect chrome.
  8. A reminder for the Salisbury NC swap meet this Saturday!
  9. Found this image of the 68 Corvette on the Tower Hobbies site
  10. My haul for the week. Flock Hornet & IMSA Mustang from a local toy show today.both open complete but with decal issues. The bodies will be used for hard body slot cars. The KAT From AMT also from the toy show along with the 1/32 Green Hornet Black Beauty slot car Pinto from Michaels with a 40 off coupon.
  11. 40 Ford coupe, I hope they fix the poorr hood trim this go around. Would like to see them retool the original headers and wheel covers but Round2 probably blew their development budget on the "NEW" Coca-Cola decals.
  12. We will be holding two shows in 2022! The first event will be on April 2nd while the second show will be held on October 15th. Both shows will take place at the VFW in Statesville where our last show was held. We are finalizing the show classes and we will be posting them one week from today.
  13. Michaels is offering 40% off coupons again but you must sign up for Michaels Rewards to get them. Good onetime only for one regular priced item. I've received one a week over the past two weeks by emails from Michaels. Have been getting them on a Sunday and the coupon is valid through Saturday of the same week. Their model selection isn't what it used to be but I picked up the Revell 56 Del Ray at 40 off at my local Michaels
  14. Thanks for attending and for your greatly appreciated help with the show judging.
  15. Just want to thank everyone that made it to the show yesterday. We had 139 entries for the contest along with about 30 models on the display tables. All the vendors did well and are looking forward to our next show. Also a huge thank you to VFW Post 2031 in Statesvile, NC for providing us with an excellent venue for the event. We plan on having the show again next October and we are considering an event for April 2022. I will get some pics up and a list of the contest winners during the week.
  16. One set of the plaques that will be awarded to the top 3 in each judged class for our show this Saturday,. For show classes see the first post.
