Did fairly well at the show today, sold a good amount of kits and picked up a few. Got to meet Mike999 from the forum for the first time and saw Mikemodeler who I haven;t seen in awhile. All in all a good time. Next years show is February 16th, 2019 -
MID CAROLINA MODEL CAR SWAP MEET SALISBURY NC 2/17/2018

unfortunately there is no display area, just a swap meet. If there is interest among the attendees there is a possibility of having an area where builders can display their models. The only thing is that they would have to police/supervise the area themselves as Allen has a very limited staff to help him run the show. -

I was able to set up today for the swap tomorrow, hope to see some of you there. I'll have a sign at my table with the Model Cars Magazine logo, stop by and say hello! -
I didn't take the photos as I did not make it there this year. Photos were taken by one of the SCMA club members. I just have his Fotki site bookmarked for checking out show pics

Dave, when you log in check that the user name you are using is correct. Somehow it changed my user name to my email address on the log in page and I couldn't log on. I changed the email address that was in correctly shown as my user name to the correct one and I was able to log on.

Great news that they were able to restore it. I just went on there to see what was back up again. I did notice there were numerous SPAM posts. I hope they can get that taken care of.

This swap is next month and there is no contest or models on display. It is a swap meet only. The SCMA show was Saturday in Spartanburg SC, I didn't go to it. -

And will be offered at a price of 3.00 versus the normal 30.00 list price to reflect the 10 cents on the dollar ratio of the proceedings. -
Thanks for posting that scan and to everyone else that commented. Two scans out of the possible six that were most likely in the early Trophy kits Hopefully there are others that have the missing ones that could be scanned and posted here. It sure is interesting to see what was included as extras in the early kits.

Thanks Mark, Dave and Casey. Never having had a Showboat issue I had no idea what the axle looked like. I didn't notice the straight axle in the pictures that showed the re issues content. Looks like I'll have to pick up one of the Showboat issues.
-
Do the instructions from this release show how the straight axle is used? Drastic Plastic instructions page doesn't show the earlier Showboat release. I've been told it should be adaptable to the 49 Ford.

This was include in a purchase I made of some original AMT 32 Ford boxes, decals and instructions. It is approximately 4 X 6 1/2 Anyone ever see this type of card in any of the other early Trophy kits such as the 25 T, 32 roadsters , 40 Fords or early annual kits. In all my searches on that auction sight for AMT 32 and 40 Fords kits, decals or parts , none of these ever showed up in any pictures or descriptions of what was up for auction, not even in the background. There are more pics of the boxes and contents on page 772 on the "What Did You Get Today" thread.

Your detailing is amazing. I had a 67 Cougar when in HS in 71. Base Cougar , 289 2 barrel with 3 speed. Changed it out to a 4 speed. Quick for what it was. Of all the cars that I've owned that Cougar ( sold it buy the Duster) and my 73 340 4 speed Duster were my favorites

Great looking 32. It makes mine that I'm building in a similar theme as if a 10 year old is working on it. Did you do a build thread ? Would like to see or know how you did the roll and pleat inserts Beautiful model.

I remember the Monogram cards and have a couple of them around here somewhere. I have never seen one of these early AMT cards though. Even in all my searches on that auction site for AMT 32 Fords has one of these shown up. Maybe I need to start a new thread on it to see if anyone can offer more info on them.

Once I get it flat again I'll scan it and re post it in case anyone wants a copy of it. I'm no expert on AMT kits but I've never seen one of these before. I wonder if the roadster kits had similar cards.

I actually received these in the mail yesterday so technically I didn't get them today.. The boxes are in good to very good condition. The 32 sport roadster box has some writing on one end panel. Original decals are in near mint condition. Instructions have very small tears at the folds but no paint stains or writing on them. Bonus was this postcard. I need to put it under a stack of books to flatten it out. It is just a touch to wide to fit in the box bottom. Slight water stain on the front and back. Notice the trophy in the lower left hand corner. Another bonus was the dual spare fender assembly along with the mounts, chrome rims, hubcaps and original "No Name" tires.

Casey, I never thought of Lindberg. I assumed it was for an AMT kit. The Drastic Plastic Fotki page that has the Gooche decals just states 32ford underneath its picture. When I sent an email to Gooche I asked if it was an original for a 32 Ford kit or something they may have composed. Never thought to ask if it was from an AMT or Lindberg kit. Billy Gooche who has passed away may have known but his daughter may not be aware of what kit it came from. Sorry to put everyone on a wild goose chase on this. I am now trying to research early Lindberg kits and see if I can find box art or info in an early catalog

I like it ! Great color combination and decal/lettering .
