  1. Great topic with some great ads. Sure takes me back in time! unclescott58, you mentioned you had another thread with vintage ads. I did a search and could not find it. Do you have a link to it?
  2. I need the link for the pages of photos of the decals by Gooch on the Drastic Plastic Fotki pages. I've tried to find them by numerous searches and have had no luck so far. I want to contact Nikki Gooch about ordering some decals and want to send her images of what i would like to order. Thanks
  3. 1962 Ford Custom 2 door post sedan with a 223 6 cylinder and a 292 V8 with automatic and 3 speed standard transmission options Would make a great Fire Chief and/or Police car as many inner city police cars used a 6 cylinder versus the V8 for city driving. It could later be issued with a 406 with 3 2's and with a 4 speed.and automatic transmission with cheater slicks and 62 era tach, gauges and decals for an A/stock drag car. If the tooling was done properly so the 406 and chassis could be used a 62 Galaxie hardtop could be done using some of the sedan tooling. And how about a 55, 56, or 57 Chevy sedan delivery? Make a stock version with a six and V8 option again with an automatic or a 3 speed. Would be great as a light commercial vehicle, utility company and /or police or fire department vehicle. Next upgrade would be to add some Stahl headers, traction bars, ball joint spacers ,wide and narrow steelies and wide and narrow Cragars or Keystones. along with cheater slicks. Some 60's era correct gauges, tach and decals and we have a Junior Stocker
  4. Mid Carolina Model Car Swap Meet
  5. I've been wondering about that also. It appears to be two different racks of test shots unless they moved just one rack for the pictures. The pallet racks in the background appear to be different colors and it appears the one lower bar is not completely filled with hangers.
  6. The following is from the Questions and Answers from the link I posted in my previous post. Larry C says: July 29, 2014 at 11:23 am It is great to see some of the old kits being re-issued. Any chance for a re-issue of Dukes of hazzard, Cooter’s tow truck? Reply JohnG says: July 31, 2014 at 7:41 pm It’s not beyond the realm of possibility at some point, but the tooling was changed. We’d have to piece it back together. - See more at: http://www.collectormodel.com/round2-models/2224-whats-a-hanger-shot/#comment-13806 If we let Round 2 know there is an interest in certain kits perhaps they will realize the investment in time and restoration may pay off for them.
  7. Perhaps some of the missing parts or tool components for requested kits will show up when they complete their inventory of the "hanger shots".
  8. How about the Cooter's tow truck? It doesn't have to have the DOH decals or liscensing, perhaps some generic service station and body shop decals. If they still have the licensing for Texaco do it as a service truck for a Texaco station. And make sure it has all the accessories as they were back in the day.
  9. Now if they add the hemi, slant six, rear seat lower block off and the other parts from the original I'll buy a few.
  10. From my PB account I go to the album and picture I want. I then go to the right side of the page where it says share this photo. I then left click the box next to IMG. It copies it automatically and then I paste it in my message.
  11. I just looked over the instructions on the drastic plastics instructions page. It appears to me that the hood can only be used without the stacks. These are probably the original instructions where all the assembly steps are in text. I didn't notice anywhere that states not to use the stacks with the hood. If you look at the pics of the completed model it would appear that the hood wouldn't fit properly with the stacks. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/ford/1931-1940/amt-32-ford-victori1/?view=roll#1
  12. We have had some interest in getting a group together with about 6 modelers so far. PM me. for more info.
  13. Mike, glad you did some business there. Ernie was upset about the poor turnout of vendors and spectators. Next show/swap will be at his slot car drag strip in Troutman until we can get the show to grow. He may do one in March at his drag slot car location. I'll keep you up to date on date and so on. Whoops, double post.

  15. With 75% plus humidity here in NC I haven't been able to get much paint on my build either. Most of the parts have been prepped for paint and some are in primer.
  16. I picked up a bottle of Elmer's clear school glue today. Has anyone used it for flocking and did you thin it ?
  17. Welcome to the forum. I'm originally from Massapequa, been in NC since '93 except for a few years between 2007 and 2011. Look into the LIARS Model Club on the island. They have a show/swap meet in November at the Freeport Civic Center in Freeport.
  18. I didn't mention a wagon as you would think Revell would do one as an obvious follow up to an El Camino and sedan delivery kit Dog dish caps, a base 283, a six , a powerglide and a 3 speed and maybe a 4 speed. Not sure if the six and sb bell housings were the same in 1960 as they were for later sixes and sb's. The 348 could be used from the Impala in one version of the El Camino or just kit bashed from a 60 Impala. Two dashes, one with radio heater controls and one with correct radio/heater delete plates. Perhaps two columns, one with shift lever for 3 on the tree or just one easily modified for a floor shift. Of course two sets of pedals for either an automatic or stick setup .Mix up the power train options, dog dishes, wheel covers and custom items between the three kits if need be to increase sales.
  19. Shouldn't be to hard for Revell to do from their 60 Impala tooling. Then do the last year available from Chevy, a stock body 60 sedan delivery. Tool up a six cylinder for it to make it more desirable to builders. Lots of variations are possible. Stock, mild custom, drag, municipality, commercial and............
  20. There are a few of us trying to get a modelers group together in the Mooresville ,NC area. It will not be a club, just a group of modelers getting together to enjoy models, share techniques, trade and so on. We plan on getting together monthly starting in October on either a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday night from 7PM until about 10PM. We will be meeting at Fast Trax Slot Car Dragway in Troutman, NC which is just north of Mooresville. Most likely continue year round if there is enough interest to continue during the summer months. If anyone is interested please respond here or PM me for more info.
