  1. This is the OOB version I built last month with the tires from a recent AMT 55 Chevy. Still need to add some period decals to it. I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel & the early signs of Parkinsons ( slight finger tremors ) a couple of months ago & I have been doing some promo style builds. For an early kit it did have some well detailed parts such as the exhaust manifolds with some decent bolt details..
  2. My weekend additions to the "stash".
  3. I agree with the AMT '32 Ford coupe or roadster. The caps look like 33 Ford caps. For tires I'd go with the tires from the Revell 37 Ford pickup or panel delivery. You will probably have to build up the outer rim diameter a bit. The AMT rims are not a snug fit to the Revell tires I have the AMT32 Ford rims and caps if you need them. i may have the 33 Ford rims & caps, would need a few days to find them. PM me
  4. Tables are SOLD OUT Taking names for a waiting list in case we have cancellations
  5. Mike, according to the CKM Facebook page they will NOT be having a show this year.
  6. Found this link to Dave Darby's pics from the show on FB. https://public.fotki.com/DWDarby/model_cars/scma-simpsonville/
  7. Will do. We wanted to get the date out as early as possible so we didn't have any conflicting shows
  8. Flyer for a show I am helping to organize and promote. PM me if you are interested in reserving a table. We are only selling 30 tables and will not "squeeze in" anymore than the planned available tables. While at the SCMA show in Simpsonville,SC yesterday we received considerable responses and tentatively have 13 of the 30 tables spoken for. We should have the show theme & classes finalized in a week or so. Recommend that you follow this topic to stay updated to future announcements regarding this show
  9. My haul from yesterdays SCMA show & swap in Simpsonville SC. Not in pic is an AMT 65 El Camino i got from a swap deal with mikemodeler Lots of great deals, great turnout of contest entries.

  12. I'll be there helping out at the Fast Trax Hobbies tables plus looking for some parts & decals.
  13. When I was 12 or 13 a 49 GMC pickup with a granny geared 4 speed at the Texaco station I used to hang around. Just before I turned 17 I bought a 62 Impala with a 283, manual steering/brakes and a 3 speed Hurst. My father used it for about 4 months or so until I got my permit. Got my permit and went for my first driving lesson with my dad. Surprised him when I pulled away from the curb without snapping his neck off! Got onto an open stretch of road and banged second and third after pulling away from the traffic light. End of lesson, from then on my mother went with me. Dad figured I would';t be banging gears with her in the car. My uncle also took me out for lessons in his 67 Fairlane station wagon with a 289 and 3 on the tree. Drivers Ed in HS we drove 4 door 70 Galaxies and Torino's. Took my road test with the family 68 Falcon station wagon with 200 six and automatic. Parents didn't think a 62 Chevy "hot rod" with chrome reverse rims and dual cherry bombs would impress the test giver.
  14. Completed smooth trades with vintagedragcrazy and RichCostello
  15. A customer survey card asking what kits and features you would like to see in future releases that you could mail back to AMT. Found in an original AMT 63 Corvette convertible annual kit. Probably how we got the "My Mother The Car" and "Hero" Imperial ! Not the way it's done today, that's for sure!
  16. Completed smooth trades with Modlbldr & Modelbuilder Mark
  17. I brought up a 62 Galaxie as a kit for Revell to do to Ed Sexton quite a few years ago. He said AMT did one. I replied that was over 40 years ago! Mentioned to him all the Chevy's Revell did that AMT had also made, he didn't have an answer for me.
  18. Not sure if this will help but here are pics of a 59 Caddy engine showing where the oil filler tube is located.
  19. Exercise! Went to three Flea markets I hadn't gone to before and all I got was some exercise. Did find some overpriced NASCAR kits but that was it. Will stick to my local flea market for now.
