Sad to hear. I met Rich at the South Carolina Modelers Association show in Simponsville, SC several years ago. He was down visiting LIARS member Tom Valenta and he noticed my Northern accent (I'm originally from Long Island as was Rich). Talked to him on and off during the event, a very personable guy.

Thanks Mark, I didn't think to look at instructions from the early 60's.

AMT dual axle trailer from the Cal Drag Combo question. Can anyone ID these parts that are on this tree for the trailer? They are not shown in the instructions.

What Did You Accomplish Today? (Model Car Work)

Tom, found this info on Wikipedia "The 1955-1957s were made in right-hand drive and shipped from Oshawa Car Assembly in Oshawa, Ontario, for local assembly in Australia (CKD), New Zealand (SKD) and South Africa. All three model years had a reversed version of the '55 LHD dashboard and did not get the LHD models' 1957 redesign." -
Robert, natural plastic, the only parts I detailed were the taillights with an old felt tip marker. Plastic is not as bright as the newer issue AMT kits that are molded in white. I may add the side pipes to it once I decide on the decals for it Kit was the Street Rod series from 1974 which I believe was the first time it was reissued.

This is the OOB version I built last month with the tires from a recent AMT 55 Chevy. Still need to add some period decals to it. I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel & the early signs of Parkinsons ( slight finger tremors ) a couple of months ago & I have been doing some promo style builds. For an early kit it did have some well detailed parts such as the exhaust manifolds with some decent bolt details..

Can anyone identify a source for this?
VW93 replied to iBorg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree with the AMT '32 Ford coupe or roadster. The caps look like 33 Ford caps. For tires I'd go with the tires from the Revell 37 Ford pickup or panel delivery. You will probably have to build up the outer rim diameter a bit. The AMT rims are not a snug fit to the Revell tires I have the AMT32 Ford rims and caps if you need them. i may have the 33 Ford rims & caps, would need a few days to find them. PM me -

Will do. We wanted to get the date out as early as possible so we didn't have any conflicting shows -
Flyer for a show I am helping to organize and promote. PM me if you are interested in reserving a table. We are only selling 30 tables and will not "squeeze in" anymore than the planned available tables. While at the SCMA show in Simpsonville,SC yesterday we received considerable responses and tentatively have 13 of the 30 tables spoken for. We should have the show theme & classes finalized in a week or so. Recommend that you follow this topic to stay updated to future announcements regarding this show

In what vehicle did you learn to drive?
VW93 replied to BeakDoc's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When I was 12 or 13 a 49 GMC pickup with a granny geared 4 speed at the Texaco station I used to hang around. Just before I turned 17 I bought a 62 Impala with a 283, manual steering/brakes and a 3 speed Hurst. My father used it for about 4 months or so until I got my permit. Got my permit and went for my first driving lesson with my dad. Surprised him when I pulled away from the curb without snapping his neck off! Got onto an open stretch of road and banged second and third after pulling away from the traffic light. End of lesson, from then on my mother went with me. Dad figured I would';t be banging gears with her in the car. My uncle also took me out for lessons in his 67 Fairlane station wagon with a 289 and 3 on the tree. Drivers Ed in HS we drove 4 door 70 Galaxies and Torino's. Took my road test with the family 68 Falcon station wagon with 200 six and automatic. Parents didn't think a 62 Chevy "hot rod" with chrome reverse rims and dual cherry bombs would impress the test giver. -
