  1. I love the period details you added to the chassis and engine. The fiddly and delicate parts are part of the attraction on these vintage cars. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
  2. The same thing irkes me every day.....negative attitudes.
  3. That doesn't work at all. Still getting the exclamation point and the -200 thing. I'm evidently cursed.
  4. Thanks Jim. I'll probably order some of those.
  5. What is the source of that Ford script logo on the dash?
  6. What I evidently should have made more clear was that the last Toledo toy show will be this October 2019 and the Modelhaus will have a table at that show.
  7. Don told me again yesterday that a number of people inquired about the purchase of the business but once they found out that Carol and Don worked seven days a week to keep up with orders none ever inquired again. Their dedication and work ethic was unprecedented.
  8. That will be the first time they will be available as far as I know. Their web site no longer exists so they are considering having them available on their son's website where their tires are being sold.
  9. I am unable to find a "comment box" anywhere:(
  10. I spoke with Don Holthaus for quite a while this morning. They will have a table at the last Toledo toy show and will be selling two new kits at that time. Yes you read that correctly...New Kits! One will be a phantom "El Camino" '50's Pontiac and the other will be a '57 Pontiac sedan delivery. Don says the real '57 Pontiac SD was produced in Canada. These new kits will be available in limited numbers as none will be recast when the molds are no longer usable.Just when we thought that there was little hope of new Modelhaus kits...here they are.
  11. The little molding over the windows also adds a nice period styling touch. A very cohesive and well executed design. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
  12. I am going to pull "my hair" out if I can't figure out how to post any photos. Any suggestions?
  13. I knew from past model project research that most car bodies in the 1920's era were sheet metal fastened over wooden inner structures. I came across some particularly interesting images of those and decided that would make an neat model project. Using an AMT 1925 Ford model T coupe for the basic size and shape of the various parts I began cutting pieces from Bass wood sheet. Here is a photo I decided to replicate.
  14. I seem to remember someone on the forums posting a really clever method for being sure you start in the center and get a nice clean result. IIRC they start by finding a small piece of metal tubing that fits snugly over the exhaust pipe being drilled. Next insert a drill bit into that tubing that fits snugly and work slowly. Personally I would test this this on some scrap pieces first.
  15. I use a 40 % off coupon to buy my Testors Wet Look clear at HL. Still over priced but this helps a little.
  16. Most impressive and unique method of solving a unique problem. I would waste a hundred feet of aluminum trying to get enough matching Windows to do w whole trailer.
  17. Not necessarily in my wheel house but it's great that you added a great set on under-hood details and took the time to photograph and post them here for others as reference material. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Removing tube glue without damage would be like trying to separate two pieces of steel that are welded togeather without damage. Not gonna happen.
  19. We would normally be in Myrtle beach this week and next on vacation. We were there last year and had to evacuate due to an incoming hurricane. Plan for the worst-hope for the best.
  20. I do not see any insulation, heat source or ventilation. Is this a fair weather cave only?
  21. Looking very elegant.
  22. The new under hood and bed features really balance nicely. Outstanding overall.
