I wanted to put one of those cool historical markers in the exact spot where the NNL was founded but since we have remodeled our home since then that would put the marker in the middle of our living room so my loving and normally very understanding wife gave me "the look" so I'm thinking that's not gonna happen.
Like a lot of places Toledo,Ohio can be fickle were weather is involved. I have seen everything from cold rain or snow to 90 degrees. Pack up your stuff and plan on attending. We'd be glad to see you here in the Buckeye state.
Tim is spot on saying this will be an event like no other the model car building hobby has ever seen. You will meet and can visit with some of the hobby' s best builders and see historic models on display including .magazine cover cars. Word on the street is that all the cool kids will be there!
The R&R stood for Ray and Ruth Parsons. He did offer some unique stuff but you learned pretty quickly that if the sample on his sale table looked really good buy That one and not a different one he had boxed up on another table behind him. The display item was always a good one....those boxed ones could be questionable. He was a regular attendee at our Toledo NNL events for many years and always contributed to our raffle prize table stuff.
Believe me finish paint is tough for most of us. One of the many great things about these forums is you can ask any questions you have and someone here will be willing and able to help.
I love that classic Model A Ford profile and find it interesting that we still find it attractive 8 decades after it was introduced. There are literally nearly endless possibilities for building these cars. Have fun with it and please share your progress with us as it develops.
I like that you added those tiny plug wire looms. Anyone who has tried those will tell those who care how difficult they are to get into position and look correct.
In the last week I have seen the following: white C8 Corvette,'66 Chevy pick up,'56 Chevy hardtop and today spotted a pristine'59(?)Edsel more door hardtop.
