  1. Welcome Adam. Be sure go make good use of all the hundreds of years of combined experience and model building expertise available on these forums. Pretty sure the members can answer any questions you might have. Most of all have fun doing it.
  2. Righteous work. Don't you love it when a plan comes togeather!
  3. Welcome,it's never to late to have a happy childhood!
  4. Very clever and unique presentation.
  5. In answer your question about why I would ever need to use anything other than a pin vise drill for a styrene plastic model project......one I just finished this year is a scratch built 1/25 th scale 1940's travel trailer. That required me to drill 850 Individual holes in the outside shell to add detail. The other project I gave my drill was a scratch built gas station diorama from last year that I drilled 1,100 holes into for exterior fuel tank detail.
  6. Thanks for supplying the link. I will be ordering very soon!
  7. Please give us a link to you Source for that Frenzel supercharger to save me all the time I will invest in scratch building one. Thanks !
  8. I like your choice of the Frenzel blower setup, very seldom seen in any scale. Thanks for posting your progress.
  9. Looks like you have some great visual images to start with. That side engine drawing is very nice and should give some opportuinys for proportionan scratch building. Those cross members look very correct and sturdy as heck.Good luck and thanks for posting your pergress.
  10. If possible drill those mounting holes where the wall studs are located for maximum security. If you 're not sure how to locate the studs, ask someone who does carpentry work, typical American construction codes call for them to be 16" apart.
  11. The simple truth here is for both guys and gals is that this simple test can and does save lives. Our doctor finally convinced me to get it done. They found and removed cancerous polyps but decided to do a colon resection to be sure they had gotten everything. To do that it they removed four feet of my large intesttne (that's half of it). All in all those proceddres saved my life. Just get it done !!!!
  12. IMHO........we have probably learned a sum total of nothing. We can continue to spend our retirement income on lame movies or invest another $ .96 in a really great sheet of new sandpaper and will ourselves to eliminate some of life's little imperfections where we can.
  13. Very impressive. Thanks for sharing the images.
  14. The older I get the more emphasis I place on the visual impact my finished models have when on display. The last three I finished this year were pretty heavily detailed Race Of Gentlemen style speedsters with no fenders, exposed suspension systems, etc. As I put the finishing details on the last one I thought how nice it would be work on something that didn't have so much exposed detail evident. Therefore my next build may be a curbside.
  15. This is stricktly a personal observation but the 2.5 hours I decided to invest watching the latest Blade Runner movie was really a waste to my model building time. It is without a doubt the strangest movie I ever saw. Harrison Ford';s name initially drew me is reassuring me that he surely wouid not do anything overy lame.Well guess what...His first scene was at about the 3/4 mark into the movie. The back ground scenery is very depressing with smog and terrible backgrounds everywhere, There are akwardly long pauses in dialog and a super loud sound track. Don't get me wrong,if it those all add up to a great movie than my all means go but in my humble opinion I would rather spend that 2 plus hours sanding plastic and I hate sanding.
  16. Their armour looks cumbersome and head gear has minimal visibility.Maybe they are supposed to scare their enemys into submission.
  17. Beautifully done and expertly photographed.
  18. Please show us some examples of your work, Are these scratch built?
  19. You might consider sitting your model on a lighter colored back ground for taking photos. The stack of model boxes and checkered base are distracting to the viewers eye. I use big flexible sheets of plain craft paper from Hobby Lobby. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Very ambitious project for sure. Good luck and thanks for sharing.
  21. I am sure the stock version would have limited sales appeal to most builders so your decision is understandable. Thanks for what you Are offering. Looks great.
  22. Model Martin has resin flat disc wheels with dog dish hub caps wearing 33's !! I just used a set of these on the back of a '25 Model T Ford speedster.
  23. My question about weather this model was going to be available from you in stock form was because you chose to show both versions in one of your photos. That stock one would make a very neat thing to load onto the back of a flatbed truck !
  24. Glad you're here and thanks for your contributions to our hobby.
  25. Isn't it interesting how crude some of the early small parts look in close up pix ?
