  1. Lot of great idea here that could be useful for anyone interested in being more organized.I personally just divided my styrene shape stock into groups by using some 2"I'D BOX pipe cut into 6"lengths.I cut some styrene circles for caps on one end then labeled them "tube","angle","rod",etc. That way they are portable if I decide to work outside on the deck for a while. I organize larger groups of parts and supplies into plastic drawers that are in stackable sets of three from Hobby Lobby. Those are labeled for adhesives, wire, tools, sanding stuff, plain sheet styrene, pattern styrene, etc. That stack of drawers is now over 5 feet tall and saves a lot of time scrounging and sorting through stuff. Stuff on my main workbench is on rotating trays with stacking circular organizers. Those hold individual tools, paint brushes, files, etc.
  2. Did you take some in progress photos of making the hanging clothes? If so please post them. Thanks!!

  4. Very clean and well done model with period appropriate color choices. Thanks for sharing!
  5. Saving the factory rear fenders was absolutely the right choice. That decision helps retains what I call the "product identity"from Oldsmobile.good luck with this project and thanks for sharing.
  6. I am trying to find a link to an amazing built. It is for a circus truck that contains living quaters for a worker. It is mostly scratch built, based on an AMT 1/25 kit,and super detailed. Can anyone provide me with a link? Thanks!!
  7. I believe I would hover it over a base covered with sand.Nice si-fi piece.Thanks for sharing.
  8. A real work of art! Also a very interesting build to follow as it progressed.I enjoy watching you solving the problems we all run into as we build(too much glue, paint splatter, and so forth).I have a problem with that parts eating monster that lurks on the floor of my model room just waiting for me to drop something then running off and stashing it heaven only knows where so that I have to make another one ! Great build with a level of realism and detail that the rest of we mere humans can only hope to aspire to.Thanks for taking the extra time to take all of the in progress photos and post them with an explanation of exactly what you did and how it was done.
  9. I tend to build dioramas based on historic photos rather than magazine articles. Therefore I do a lot of on line research looking at similar photos posted for accuracy in background clutter and the general look of what actually appears in similar scenes. After that details like the weathering effects of rain and everyday use come into play such as worn paint and shading can add a lot to the authenticity of my scenes.
  10. Great project with a lot of original thinking and your details are really accurate. The blown 235 six banger is a wonderful choice,Looking forward to watching this one progress. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Very nice weathering.Looks like it's been running some dirt surface back roads.
  12. My personal favorite color combo is the rusty green combo.Looking really nice. Thanks for sharing!
  13. Good 'ol Jimmy Flintstone and his generous application of resin. You need dual rear wheels just to haul all that weight!
  14. What he said Art.....did you ever finish this one??

  18. You are a patient builder for sure to bring this to any state of shininess(?) at all considering what you started with.
  19. someone posted the use of an extra lens in front of their cell phone lens for excellent closeups. If any one on this site can remember what that was you might mention it here for all to see and improve their images.
  20. VERY INTRESTING!
  21. Nice model my friend.I love those those top of the line Caddys. What was the advertising line(?)"And best of all it's a Cadillac). Thanks for sharing.
  22. Nice save!I actually like the patina version better myself.Rather than throw in the towel on a "problem child"model you made a very cool model from it.Great idea. Thanks for sharing.
  23. As long as what you build suits YOU...it's perfect.Anyone that doesn't like what you build is the one with the problem...not you. Thanks for sharing and please keep building your scale dreams.
  24. I was just thinking these guys may have not ever planned on actually winning the race but had heard the old addage"if it don't go fast, chrome it'.it's also the only race car I ever saw with tail gunner's seat in the back!
