  1. That is pretty rough looking. It is a very hard to find and expensive in mint condition though. You are on to something. I bought a cheap old AMT fastback and used parts like the front clip from the newer release and so far things line up okay.
  2. The MENG kit was originally going to be out in October but I am guessing that will be delayed. As for price I can only guess around $200 or more. I have not touched my Trumpter 1/12 MKII yet.
  3. If you followed the build thread you got to see the interior and engine (an extra Thunder Valley one plus some other resin parts) which are all now hidden under this one piece body. If I had to build this again I would either skip the engine or cut the rear deck off like the TV version so you could see the engine. The only parts I omitted were the fire extinguisher and I add did not add the seat belts. Once the chassis was forced into the body I had to made some mods for everything to fit by cutting away part of the engine cover and I still to cut some more away so the spare tire cover fits flush. I also could not get all fours wheels to be level on the ground no mater how I fiddled with the front and rear suspensions. I think this was due to trying to do to much on this build which just made it harder to get everything to fit withou being able to test fit for fear o the resin breaking if I tried to stretch the body too many times. The only thing I may add are the roof lights if I find something that looks correct. I thought about changing the rear tires since they are a little too wide but I was afraid it would wreck the rear suspension trying to take ithem off. Otherwise it is time to move ont o anohter project which will hopefully go smoother and not take as long.
  4. I think Carroll would be very impressed. Nice job.
  5. You are correct. Keith Marks should have decals for the 1968 KR in whatever color 2zwudz is looking for. I think that is what I used on this HRM resin body with the stock AMT chassis/interior KR convertible I built about five years ago. His website only shows white but you can ask for another color.
  6. Best to use a credit card with a company you do not know so you can dispute the charge. Even Paypal will help you resolve disputes with a vendor but a cashiers check or money order is taking a risk.
  7. I am pretty sure they were on the Fred Cady sheet at one time. Contact me if you want the two small ones at the bottom of the picture.
  8. Yes - just his ebay "name" would suffice to see what items he has listed.
  9. I like the TV trans kit but I had to add some extra parts from the Fujumi MKI and HRM engine kit. I need to add some lines to the fluid coolers.
  10. I figured if not now when so here is the other one coming.
  11. DDP makes the roadster curbside kit but with shipping it is over $200. I ordered one directly from Pierpaolo Pintarelli. I bought this old CMA transkit I am building at NNL east about three years ago. You could try Island Collectibles to see if they still have any. I think you could basically build the same thing as the CMA kt using the Fujumi 68/69 car combined with some other MK II parts.
  12. Thanks. I knew this would be the challenge all along. There wasn't really any chance beforehand to test fit the modified Fujumi chassis, the very inflexible resin body and the added engine that sadly will mostly be out of view. So, hopefully the epoxy will hold with my rubber bands of encouragement. The rear tires are a tad too wide but pretty hard to undo that without more modifications. I am glad I waited to do the decals and surely the would have gotten messed up with all the bands. So aside from a few mirrors, putting the front wheel back on and some touch up painting I hope to put this on in the completed column. I was called in to work this wee so my modeling time has dropped off a lot and I probably would not have tackled this project if not for the extra time. While the glue dries overnight I worked on a driver figure for another GT40 build and will finish that soon too.
  13. You can ask Classic Racing Resins if he sells the figure separate. I have not "test fit" it yet in a Fujumi kit but it looks small enough and should work if you put him in the drivers seat before installing the dashboard.
  14. Looks fantastic. I hope you finish before life gets back to normal. I have too many projects I started and the more I went beyond the standard build it tooks years of off an on again working on them to complete. Stick with it and you will be frustrated at times but the end result will be impressive. So, Carrol's hat if off to you and Miles approves. I still need to paint the driving suit and seat belts - the other figures as you may know were prepainted and came in the special 427 Cobra kit.
  15. Keep guessing but a hint is they are not Mark II's or IVs and they are 1/24th. Me collect/build 1/43? ?
  16. Big time bummer. Hopefull we can have a regular meeting by June or July at the latest.
  17. I suppose if you count buying a kit for a resin transkit that requires a donor kit. The good news is you end up with leftover parts which can be used for other projects. If I cut out the doors and trunk of a kit, I will buy two so I can not worry about being precise and just melt through the plastic while cutting leaving room for the donor pieces. There are other times when something in a it is so bad you pull out anohter kit and use parts from it so I guess you can say that kit is now been pirated.
  18. Not much progress except for getttng the windows glued in. I ended up swapping the ones I had in the 68/69 car because when I looked at the pictures I realized the Fujumi kit had the correct ones for the 68/69 winner which were not around when the Thunder Valley kit came out. The honey do list caught up with after having 2.5 weeks of working on models every day. I did get a little happy ordering online two kits. One from France and one from Italy which hopefully will be here in about a month. Can anyone guess which ones?
  19. Hello Graham. Welcome aboard. The forum has builders from all around the world and as you can tell it is mostly vehicles but if you are in that 50-80 year old range many of us built just about anything when we were younger. Post some pictures when you can of your builds no matter how new or old they are.
  20. Beautiful as always. Here is CSX 3013 in Switzerland 1966 - thought I would share from Facebook.
  21. That is worth a try. I have seen much worse. I have seen them yellow sometime after they are applied IF the excess is not trimmed.
  22. It is very nice and not cheap anymore since they are long out of production. The Boss 351 is nice too.
  23. Assuming the decals do not break apart (you may try using a sealant) what I do with yellowed decals is to try and trim as close a possible to the art work which ould mean cutting it into part. Typically it it's the surrounding film that yellows so you may test one when you are ready and see how it goes.
  24. Cool. I have this kit which should be just as fun.
