  1. Thanks. It says Leesburg VA is open which is 19 miles from me and all the others nearby are closed. Interesting they are all in the same state but different counties.
  2. Uggh. You can go to Walmarts in No Va surrounded by hoards of people but as Steve said the HL's near us are still closed.
  3. She' a beauty for sure. Hope to see it in person soon.
  4. Yes - Tasmania is a lot further than within the USA where mal deliveries are still pretty good.
  5. Decals for which version and from where? I've ordered from IndyCals and they are very fast.
  6. I will not wear a mask until I have to at work. I've been working every other week and a few people are wearing them. Surprising two of the four people are over 60. We are not in close contact. Speaking for myself, I would say I am in pretty good shape for my age (61) so if I get the virus I think my odds are pretty good to survive (>90%). So, can we all hide from this forever - of course not. If you are able spend this extra time many folks that were working 40+ hours a week exercising at least an hour a day. If you are going to do cardio (walking briskly, jogging, bike riding) than be prepared to inhale fresh air without wearing a mask that limits the carbon dioxide from fully escaping. My son is obsessed with tracking the deaths by age group and there's not doubt this virus can take the life of anyone at any age but so can many other things - just not at the numbers we've seen worldwide (with of course hour by hour updates on the news) at these amounts in a long time. Take care everyone and I would like to go to Hobby Lobby when it open back up.
  7. 1/24. I plan to use the Shelby Collectibles diecast chassis and other parts. It's a little rough and thick compared to say the excellent resin kits from HRM but I think it will look decent finished.
  8. I thought I would give on of these resin Cobras a try. I go it off an Ebay seller in the UK and the package did not take too long. Although it's pretty much a shelf model (no engine) it at least should make something presentable an and a much lower cost than the higher end resin kits.
  9. Nice original IMC kit. They are tricky to build but aside from the MPC or an expensive resin kit w/o an engine that's all that is out there. The Testor's nd Union ones are the same molds.
  10. Remember to fill in the vents in the hood. Not a single 71-73 Mustang had those vents (only 65-70 did) regardless of whether it was the NACA or regular hood. If you want to build a "correct" 73 Mach1 get decals from Keith Marks or Rayskits. You can get creative with the engine compartment by grafting in the firewall and inner fenders from a RM 69-70 Mustang kit.. It's a lot of work but looks 100% better.
  11. Perhaps our local church will get more wedding booked later in the year. I think we have averaged less than five a year for many years due to declining attendance.
  12. Did you see the previous post? Not sure why it cannot be pushed back 2-3 months. Churches should be pretty flexible about the dates they rent out space for a show.
  13. I can go into Walmart and only buy diecast cars with a hundred customers in the store buying whatever they fill their carts with while they browse every aisle and that is safe, but shopping in a large craft store for five minutes with mostly women customers is not safe. It's gotten to be a strange world we are in especially since I am in the 60+ group now. ?
  14. Yes - nice 67 GT. My two cents is the factory styled steel wheels would look great paired with RWL tires. I was never a fan of the kit tires. Speaking of a 69 Mustang GT the old MPC kit was actually a GT not a Mach1 as it had the GT style gas cap but I do not think anyone cared as long as Mach1 decals were applied from The Last detail, Fred Cady or later resissues of that kit which to me always seemed smaller than 1/25.
  15. Super nice. Looks like a very expensive diecast which is a compliment.
  16. Yes it would be nice to see some of these "under glass." I tend to build the rarer or resin kits before I do most plastic kits as it is cool to build a one-off or limited edition transkit that you would never find in even the most stocked hobby shops back in the day. It's so much easier to order online vs. the old days when we had to fill out an order form and send in a check or credit card number. Paypal - whats' that?
  17. Doh. I was assuming it was the engine from the kit and did not zoom in. I have seen someone put the Boss 9 in a real Torino street machine and it looks like it belongs there more than Ford nd Kar Kraft jamming it into the Mustang. I guess the stock looking non-ram air blue air cleaner fooled me unless you made the scoop functional like the Mustangs.
  18. Thanks Gramps. As long as my kids share my interest in cars I will enjoy these moments that I missed with my father that passed way when I was sixteen. He was not a car nut but my older bother talked my mother into getting the family 67 Camaro (which was white) painted a metallic dark blue. Sadly I do have any pictures of it and my mother sold it and got herself a 280Z. I guess our family car genes really do run on both sides.
  19. Interesting. I built the CMA 66 Sebring X-1 winner and have the DDP roadster on order. I also have the roadster X-1 conversion kit from Indycals.
  20. I had not heard the R2 rumor but typically any of the AMT or MPC 71-73 molds end up having a 73 bumper and maybe a 72 grille (like in the MPC "Boss" 351 kit). Of course the movie car had a 429 CJ engine which would not be the kit either. You may expect Diamonds but we will get Cubic Zirconia. ?
  21. Rich, I do have the red 427 and the 65 GT350 from that series. There was a red GT40 MKII that was basically an Exoto 1/18 but sold under another brand perhaps that was Danbury or somebody else. I would have to dig through the old brochures. Are the resin conversions to do a 67 Daytona version or the Mark II's w/o the rear scoops? Asking for a friend. ?
  22. ??. Very nice work on one version not seen built (the Ford of France) too often. I think you are right about building these together. Every time I build the Tamiya or Revell ones I forget the quirks of these kits. The 1/20 diecast is one not in my collection but I see them on Ebay sometimes. The color seemed off to me but for the $$$ it looks nice - just an odd scale. Keep up the good work and keep those GT40's coming.
  23. Nice score Ray. A friend in Japan sent me this odd kit in the 1990s. Yes the scale is weird but the body is more acurate than the AMT or MPC kits. The chassis is typical toylike. I built this maybe 20 years ago and I need to touch up the decals that have flaked off due to age and handling. I may add some 351 ram air decals while I am at it. P.S. You do not have to paint yours yellow. ?
  24. This situation is getting absurd. Target and Walmart happen to sell groceries and just about everything else so you can shop there and not buy food and just get clothes. But Kohls sells clothes and not food so they are out of luck. I would almost best the large chain stores will add a food aisle so they can remain open next time. I went to the new Hobby Lobby that opened in the old ToysRus and as you said the selection is very good compared to Michaels. I cant wait until this mess is over.
