  1. Thanks a lot JT. I always enjoy your positivity!
  2. That looks great Jacobus. The seats look spot on.
  3. Thanks a lot Brad, I appreciate it. You absolutely should dig out those old rigs. Thanks Brian! Thanks Gino!
  4. Antiques are always better in my eyes Sean. The BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH we have today does not even deserve to be called junk. Im not referring to models of course, just everything in general. I happen to think were in a golden age of modeling, even if the participants are not as plentiful. I think the possibilties now are greater than thevye ever been. Anyhow, yes Im a sucker for that original issue artwork. I love collecting the originals.
  5. Thanks Dennis.Yes I did, and its great. Exactly like Jarda said, cutting the hex rod straight can be a hassle. This makes it very easy, although there are advantages and disadvantages to both. Thanks Gator. I dont want to let this one get too far off the back burner. Its getting close, so I just need to keep chugging away at it.
  6. Im trying to push this one along to completion. I jumped a big hurdle tonight and punched out the bolts for the frame. I also put yet another coat of primer on the cab and hood after more sanding. Im still trying to get he bodywork right, and then its right into paint.
  7. Awesome build! That looks great.
  8. That looks great. Its definitely an improvement on the stock kit. Nice work
  9. Nice work Sean.It looks good in primer. Ill admit that this isnt my favorite movie truck, but Ive thought about using the 1/32 Mack and tanker to make a diorama of the Duck hanging off of a scale bridge at the fims end. I dont currently have the room for that kind of layout, but it will happen.
  10. I got a few in today myself. I also scored an original issue GMC General. This kit completes my collection of original issue AMT GM trucks.
  11. Great score guys. Its good to see that Dave has the Ford available again (hasnt been since it was MTFACo), and some more if those old RNK wheels.
  12. That Ford cab is amazing! The Cracker box is also. Are you going to have these cast?
  13. I lightly file the edges that will be glued, but dont trim any of the rest of the part. Then I glue it, then sand the seam, and theres no gap to fill. When I used to completely clean up all edges, I would end up with a void. What I mean by cutting off the pins is the locating pins inside of a two half part. Most of the time using the pins will result in a misaligned part. On the fuel tanks, rear ends, air tanks, and parts like that.
  14. Sean, my whole front porch was a snowstorm after that. I was full of it, the dog was full of it, I had to get the leaf blower to get it off the porch. This is my first tortion bar build. It was a bit tricky, but do-able. Thanks Dennis. Ill admit, I like the way this is looking. Hopefully it will have a very old school, but sinister look.
  15. Well then they apparently made them both ways. There are definitely examples of them with and without now that I look. Ive only seen them without.
  16. Here is tonights progress. I mounted most of the tortion bar suspension, and got the rear axles on. I did a quick wheel/cab/bumper mock up.
  17. As far as I can guess, the cab was made by Backyard shed. I have two other Bullnose cabs that are better quality, so thats why I started with this one. As far as closing the pores, I usually just putty them. It its very light I just use a heavy primer. Ive also used lightweight sheetrock compound to skim large sections of cabs. Its very easy to sand.
  18. Thanks guys, and Clayton yes thats a bubblenose Freightliner. I just wanted to see how hard it would be. It may be cast eventually.
  19. Thanks Brian, Gino, and Dennis. Today I took a dremel to the cab. Here is the starting thickness. The resin dust was really flying today. I took down the thickness and opened up some panels. Here are the results. Here is my custom double bumper with additional lights. I swapped out a Revell front axle and drilled and pinned it for steering. Added angle to the 5th wheel plate Mounted the tortion bars Mounted the front axle
  20. Yes, this has stirred up some creativity for sure. This has gotten the truck section out of a lull. Keep the good work coming guys!
