It doesnt look bad Sam. It looks like it just pulled out of the pit on a rainy day. Its looks damm good to me. -
Im working on a bubble nose Pete 350 cab that is the same way. Its 3/4" thick in some places and it keeps breaking on me. I keep having to epoxy the pieces back in as they break, so I can keep working in it. Eventually it will all be epoxy! The cab looks great. What chassis are you going to use on this?

That chassis is very crisp and clean Sam. I can tell how much work you have done, because I know all too well how heavy the mold seams are, and how tapered the rails and crossmembers are. The gladhands look great. -
After much consideration of Warrens suggestion to move the mixer unit back, I decided to extend the drum by an inch. I figured with this truck being the Hoss that it is, to justify the heavy suspension, bigger tires, and twin steer, it needs a bigger drum. This also allowed me to shorten another drum for an older style mixer build in the future. Heres the shorter drum and some leftover rings to extend another drum in the future. Maybe something like this.....

Anything is certainly possible Gator. I imagine that it wouldnt be any different than the driven axles at the rear except that they steer. I think it would be easier to do with top loader axles like the Rockwells that the military uses for front drive axles. Ive never understood why they dont use the same set up on highway trucks like the military does.

Jeff, I was going to, but with my backlog of builds I think its smarter to make this a curbside. I have a Cummins block and trans coming courtesy of Driptroit, Mr. Brian Smith. I plan on detailing the front suspension and steering as much as I can, and that will be the show piece of this build. I always bite off more than I can chew, then it never gets finished, so Im trying to be smart about it.

This has been posted a few times before, but this is my take on the aftermath of the Duel truck. There are many things incorrect about the model such as suspension and the wrong cab. This was sold off a few years ago. I have collected parts to build another.

Thanks for the feedback gentlemen, I have decided to go diamond plate. I have done the rear fenders, and will tackle the front fenders later today. While I have the fenders apart from the cab, I need to make new hood sides after looking at the photos of the twin steer wrecker. Im itching to start fabbing up all of the rods and brackets that stabilize the front axles and start making all of the steering parts. The fact that all of this will be functional will be the best challenge. Warren, you are absolutely correct on the drum position. I usualy take a little bit of artistic liscence on some things, and even though it should be back further, I like the look of where it is. Ive had to make a few cosmetic modifications as it is because this truck is so ugly! I appreciate the input, thank you.
