  1. Another interesting Mopar build by Mopar Dan. Looking forward to this
  2. Looking forward to this
  3. Well, I like a challenge and making such an ugly truck look good is a challenge. Junking the sleeper and all that Aero junk and the side skirts, and it doesnt look half bad. The front axle position was a little off, but thats what I will correct next time. I really dont have a whole lot more to do on the dumper, once the bed is finished.
  4. Im getting my thread started while I have the time. This photo is the inspiration for my build. The truck in the photo is an LTS, so I will be building the newer LTA version. I will be using the Ford Aeromax kit, and the mixer and rear suspension from the Paystar kit. Here is a similar build of an LTA dump truck Ive been fooling around with. I have learned the quirks of this kit, so the next one will go smoother. I will also be using these AITM 12X24 6 spoke wheels on the mixer build.
  5. Wow Brian, that looks amazing. Just the filter decals added a lot.
  6. Fine work. I never het tired of seeing some Autocars being built.
  7. The only problem with filling that, is then all of the cast iron "texture" will be sanded off. I know there are way to replicate it, but that probably why it wasnt filled.
  8. I think you can handle it gator. I can send you some clear sheet to practice on if you need it.
  9. Tower Hobbies just deleted it from my wishlist.
  10. Thanks. Its a R800 Australian model. The cab is in the center. The bed comes from the Italeri Freightliner kit, but they also put it in the DAF kit. Neither one is easy to find. The resin wheels come from AITM. They are 14x24 8 spoke front and rear.
  11. Ahh, lookin great bud! Thats that quality work Im looking for. I cant wait to see this flexing it muscles next to that Paystar.
  12. I know this is from 2009, but this is a fine Hayes conversion. The axle spread is a nice detail.Great work Tim.
  13. Very nice work. This is a simple but effective conversion kit. Youve inspired me to order the PE set myself.
  14. ? Dang Dennis, what a beautiful build.Im almost speechless. I know youve been working your ? off on this rig. There are so many awesome details. The rims and tires really make this thing look like the real deal. The chains and hooks are the icing on the cake. Best of all, the fact that this was 100% scratchbuilt is amazing.
  15. Excellent work. Are those Transtar spokes, or some that you cast?
  16. Unfortunatley, I have built many of them. There is a laundry list of things to repair before even getting to assembly.Once the winshield height, and wheelbase is fixed, its all gravy.
  17. There was no camper in the box, and everything was sealed in bags.
  18. Yes, Jim its a pretty nice conversion. I bought one several months ago.
  19. Your off to a great start. This looks much better than my start on mine years ago. This should be a great build by what youve done so far.
  20. This is as close as Ive come this year.
  21. Ok, both of these were built many moons ago, but you can an idea of how to go about it. The first one is PVC pipe, with the fenders made from thin alum flashing cut and bent into shape. The axles and susp was from some AMT trailer. The arms are made from brass tube. This one was made from the bottom half of a tanker, and the frame of the MPC/AMT dump trailer kit. Its way too long and unrealistic, but wasnt bad at the time. I built this about 25 years ago and was probably one of my first kitbash/scratchbuild projects.
  22. I have used half of an AMT tanker kit, and also 3" thin wall PVC pipe. I will try to dig them out and take some pics. They are very old builds that need rebuilding, but still could be a refernce point.
