  1. My first truck ever The glass is frosted and cable had a clear coat mishap
  2. I just got this in today. Its a 1/35 military dozer. Its a US "D7". From my calulations, this D7 in 1/35 scales out to be a D4 in 1/25. Its a cable operated model. I will be building as the civilian version and putting it behind my 1930 Mack. I want to point out the amount of detail in this kit including PE parts. It is much more detailed than the Cat D8 kit.
  3. The movie truck is a White Western Star. This kit can be found easily. You will need to swap out the kit sleeper with a KW sleeper. I believe the movie truck had 2hole bud wheels which are available in resin. I cant help on the face. Ive seen arguments on IMCDB about what kind of truck this is. Its a Western Star and you can take that to the bank!!
  4. Looks cool so far. Great scratchbuilding. It takes a keen eye to see what pieces of what trucks can make another truck. Good work.
  5. Looks like it's straining to haul around that sleeper, much less a loaded trailer and did I see a pink Earth Mover?
  6. The trailer looks great. Nice work on the landing gear. Just to give a little tip, since you have landing gear, you don't need that cable loop on the very front of the trailer. This is to pull the trailer onto the truck with a winch. Great job on the dozer cab also. The screen is a nice touch.
  7. I know, I may have gotten bumped on the head Sam. Its just that 3206 looks so tiny under that huge Ford hood. A larger V8 would look better. I wouldn't try an I6 because of firewall/doghouse issues. I guess a 4 cyl Cummins would be cool.
  8. Well ford never made a diesel(to my knowledge), so its fair game. I wouldnt put a gas motor in anything bigger than an F250.
  9. Very interesting Clayton. I'm glad to see a lot of resin possibilities being used on this kit. Are you using the stock engine? A Detroit might be a good addition to this.
  10. Ken, this metallic brown Mack reminds me of my godfathers metallic brown Mack R700. With matching painted lowboy. And this truck actually had chrome spokes in the rear!
  11. With all this talk of peeing on magazines, I literally just peed on a "Scale Auto Enthusiast". K, bye.
  12. Only took about a minute with a dremel. The flat panel around the engine is not thick. The frames are re-enforced with metal rod to keep from sagging. They're a pretty good deal. I've used a bunch of them.
  13. I dont think the frame would spread out at the engine on the B model. I think its straight rails. Other than that I think the suspension is close enough. I built a B-81 mixer on a DM800 chassis years ago and it worked fine. Ive used the AITM chassis kits as well, and that makes it VERY easy.
  14. This is not boring at all, its quite the opposite. To me, a scratchbuilt engine is the best feature of any model. I will be watching. I am quite intigued with this engine myself. Keep up the good work. Doesnt Frontier resins on ebay cast this cab? Im pretty sure I have one.
  15. Looking good Ken. Nice work.
  16. Maybe so, but I thought the move already happened.
  17. Does any have a release date for this yet?
  18. Well no Macks at my HL yet, but I grabbed another Cali Hauler. They still have Freightliners, Ford race hauler, and C600 Pepsi truck kits. I bought the last couple of Diamond Reo kits they had a few months ago. I never did see any White Western Stars or K123s when they were reissued. Im just happy to be able to pick up a little window Pete everytime I go to town! Hopefully they get some Macks soon.
  19. Ive gotten the same auto-response, but Dave replied from the same email. How many times have you tried to contact him? I know they just moved their physical location.
