Dodge 9 Car Transporter
Superpeterbilt replied to Mopar - D's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Great work, and very cool project. That Dodge cab looks perfect on the FL chassis. And what better load than my favorite year of my favorite car. Ive thought about building a car hauler full of wrecked General Lees off to the junkyard, but Ive never been able to decide on a tractor. I have a few of these Dodge cabs, but they are sleeper cabs. Anyway, enough rambling. Great job! -

Nice work Chuck, and just in time for the 2015 deadline. Im tooling around with a vintage single axle dump trailer that would look perfect behind this. This truck looks great with the buckshot tires on it. Great job -

Late Introduction

Welcome Cliff. Good to see you back -
Thanks JT. Ive always been into scratch building stuff for my models, but before I discovered Evergreen & Plastruct, I had to rob what I needed from other kits. So I was always looking at the shapes of things. Then the discovery of evergreen just seemed like.......finding a boat after swimming and swimming and swimming

JT, the red beam trailer was included in my Brockway 361 thread. The darker red lowboy was started years ago and finally finished for a show this year. Ill take some pics for you and post them later. Clayton, if I helped Im glad. And Im sure to most of us its gluing plastic, but its more than a hobby. Its a happiness, frustration, and sense of satisfaction that you cant get anywhere else.

Clayton, for a guy who said he hasnt built in years, you sure have done some impressive work. My faves have to be your Cali Haulers. The FL cabovers are a close 2nd. Jt, Ive never seen anyone crank out such clean trucks so quickly. They definitley contain an element of your own style. Id say my favorite of yours is the FL cabover with dromedary box. Chuck, you made a cool looking Road Boss, which isnt easy but the Diamond Reo is my favorite. Its got enough character to be plucked from the shelf and turned into a real truck. Tom that Road Boss is the one to beat. Thats one of my favorite long hood versions.

What I find helpful in these situations is sleeper rooves and the big air bubbles(spoilers, fairings) like on the Pete 377's, Freightliner Fld's, things like that. Curved corners and things like that can be sourced from odd places sometimes. I kitbashed about 15 Western Star Constellations and threw all the cabs, hoods, sleepers, in a box. I used pieces of those things to scratchbuild all kinds of other cabs.

Yeah, my heart goes out to the families. The sad part is the shooter is not the only guilty party. There are several people with blood on thier hands.
