  1. What a cool project. It looks like your determined to have all of the details right, and have the knowledge to do that. Ill be watching this one
  2. Small update, I spent the day reworking some things on the trailers. The 5 axle suspension was just mocked up, so I got that built out most of the way. I completely tore the jeep down and reshaped it, and rebuilt it. I also think Im going to just leave it as a tandem instead of a tri axle. Im not really basing the design on anything, Im just working out of my head. I literally just sketched a shape on sheet styrene and cut it out. So that I reshaped it and am satisfied with it, I can work on getting it finished. It doesnt look like much, but it was a lot of rebuilding.
  3. This came out very clean and straight. Great job. As Ive said before, this is not an easy kit to pull off but this one looks killer. The colors work together great, and your tanks came out great as well. Very cool
  4. Got a little more done to the front bumper, several coats of primer on the cab and about 2 hours of sanding, more frame bolts, and added air tanks. I shortened a light bar from the Pete Wrecker kit for the headache rack. Mr. Oscar checking out the progress.
  5. I hear ya man. I appreciate the help
  6. Sure thing, I have time. I just want to make sure it will work before I drop the money on a kit.
  7. I have loosely attatched them to a flat piece of styrene with super glue to hold them in place. Then assemble the whole mirror and let it set up. Then carefully pry up the super glue with your exacto and transfer them to the cab. It helps if you pre- trace the window shape on the styrene.
  8. Theres no cheating about that man, thats just working smart. Again, great job. The rest of the truck should be pretty amazing as well.
  9. This really looks great Pavel. This is getting me interested in foriegn trucks. Keep up the good work.
  10. Looks great. Very cool scheme
  11. Excellent rebuild. This truck was demolished. It pulled the grand finale from Duel down some stairs. Its good to see it again.
  12. Its really looking good. Its just the way I like em, day cab with spoke wheels. Its even my favorite color scheme.
  13. Looks like the exhaust would blow right into the air intake! Being that its a Detroit, it probably wouldnt phase it. I agree with Tim. I would restore it. I probably have an extra hood with no exhaust holes in it. Just PM me if you want it. I have extra instructions also if that would help inventory whats missing.
  14. Very cool. What did you patch the back of the cab with?
  15. There is someone on ebay selling all of these posters.
  16. Thanks. Theres not as much time as I would like, but I try.
  17. I dont really have any solid info, but the earliest year truck Ive found one in was a 1970 Pete. Ive seen more 80s model Petes with them. Theres a video on youtube of a 71 Pete with twins and it sounds pretty wicked.
  18. I was going to drop a 250 Cummins power plant under the cab, but Im at a stand-still with casting. So with my resin engine not ready, I decided to build a 350 Cummins. To keep it line with the attitude of the truck, Im making it a twin turbo. Its not going to be a true NTCC 475 TT, but whose counting? I hooked them together using cut up bends from Detroit dual exhaust. Just a little extra touch.
  19. I shot some primer on the cab and started smoothing all of the splices before replacing the rivets that were sanded off. After a few coats, and some 400 grit, I got it about where I want it.
  20. Thanks for this info guys! I knew nothing of these engines. Now Im gonna have to build one.....
  21. Small update: Got some lights on the roof, mirrors on, air cleaner and luberfiner temporarily mounted. I reworked the new winch cradle, because it was a little too big. I added some Diamond Reo battery box steps. The drive chain for the winch will be a 1/12 PE Tamiya motorcycle chain. Let me just say, that was an experience putting that together. I was very impressed with how it went together. It was very tedious. I hope to have that on, and have some pics soon.
