  2. a bit of relief, thank you Cato .... I hope Harry is getting much needed support that he deserves and is able to concentrate on finding some peace for himself ... what a nightmare ... to be so ill and have to be concerned about getting proper medical care must be so terrible Once again, I'll say that Harry is the biggest reason I'm on these boards and continue this hobby ... Peace to you Harry
  3. I'm having second thoughts on the intake. The potvin seems like it'd be just too big an apparatus, so I placed some carbs on the rig ... maybe a centrifugal supercharger mounted in the front like a Miller ...
  4. I'm thinking (front to back): potvin supercharger ala 1930 Bentley blowershaved fendersoverhead valves pre-ardundual exhaustshortened (not lowered) body ... possibly narrowedrace windshield maybe raised cowlDoorless entrysans running boardwider tires proto designredesigned back hatch with spare indent (in progress)etc ...Other than the backend, I think I'm ready ...
  5. what if ? There's stories of "discussions" between Henry Ford and his engineers with his v8 before he won out with the flathead. But what if he allowed a few of his team to go have fun with his 32 Ford and do what they wanted with a one off? On their own time ... and dime of course... im playing around with rethinking the deuce .. And going gran tourismo
  6. You still got a long way to go on this C. There's plenty left to do ... although I don't see it from here Don't stop now ... pleeeeese
  7. Beauty continued ... now dont one go overboard with too much of a contrasting pinstripe C ...
  8. Those headlights are in just the right position ...
  9. LOL Cato ... relax and enjoy the final stretch on your masterpiece, but just don't forget, you screw up now and you'll break all our hearts too
  10. Keep up the great work Harry ... at least a few more decades! ... this is the first I've seen you not use real wood on a old floor and you still nailed it ... well, glued it anyway stay well
  11. Thanks Bill. My winter project will be a 32 and watching your build makes me feel like I'm cheatin! seriously, great work. Beautiful design!
  12. about 35 pages ago, I saw one of the best motors ever on a model forum and thought this guy can't possibly back the rest of the build at that same level ... and good gosh almighty, here you are ...
  13. Scott, I believe the proper term is "little person" and I'll bet money he fits in your cockpit ...
  14. Great start! Sorry about the delay Ken ... we're all getting set over here to celebrate our independence when we kicked the day lights out of the ... oops ... umm ... I like number 4
  15. Outstanding Thomas. Beautiful work bumper to bumper ...
  16. You're not going with a flathead? i just finished my "in-betweener" 1/12 on my way back to 1/8 scale, and going with the deuce as well ... Thanks kp
  17. Congrats on the news not being worse Harry. You're the main reason I use these forums. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery
  18. scott or anybody, would the body panels be removed often, say for lubrication or something? If so, I'm not sure the lacing would be all that elegant ... at the time of actual racing anyway ...
  19. your first step before the Pochers is turning out to be a brilliant choice Scott ... keep trudging through!
  20. Congrats on the rig Ray ... I can feel your enthusiasm way over here ....
  21. Thanks Tim, Tony, and Scott, much appreciated Steve, you're correct. The car raced with an engine by TRACO with grey valve covers. But my version has the very first factory L-88 as delivered personally by Dick Guldstrand. This engine was used right up just before the race before it was replaced by the TRACO. The car was prepped in just a few weeks from the factory and my version is before Penske got Sunoco as a sponsor. Champion and Firestone sponsor decals are missing as well. The duct-taped headlights were of that time as well. I hope you read my intro on page 1 ... the stories about this car are incredible. Tom, thanks. Your comment about the stance is most appreciated since that is what caught my eye when I chose this subject. It's one if the greatest looking mid-60s Corvettes ever to me and that I came close to capturing that "stance" means a lot.
  22. Thanks Bruce and Bo ... I got some used foam core signs Bruce, but they're really white (on the backs) and so I'm going to look at a leftover roll of mulch matting I got in the shed ... flat black might be a cool background ... just have to finish the race lights and maybe adjust the rear wheels ... they're out a couple of inches ...
  23. I got a few more details to go but so far: ... and then, a study-up on photographing ...
