>I Can See Clearly Now by Johnny Nash, with Bob Marley bingo frank was a bundle of contradictions. ever see this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-7XZvYgtaY ok back to the game, couple more easy ones: its like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder how I keep from going under. and from the sociopath songbook: I wanna destroy a passer-by and one more, this one is muy easy: say something once, why say it again? and finally some extended lyrics: driving mi carucha cheby 39 going to el monte legion stadium pick up on my wisa she is so divine helps me stealing hubcaps wasted all the time. fuzzy dice, bongos in the back my ship of love ready to attack... jb

dave Edmunds and Rockpile. great track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUv2-V-QYXE nick lowe is a bleepin genius writing lyrics, on bass and producing some of the 80s best artists heres a couple more: stole a car and drove to Omaha doing my best to stay away from the law when the sheriff caught me he said look here son youre going to jail for having too much fun bag of reds (often replaced with the words "barbeque ribs") from your neighborhood dealer and you passed out in the back of your car I can see all obstacles in my way bonus points for naming unknown at the time artist who was featured on this recording, singing background and playing guitar, first appearance on an American recording. jb

not many takers on my lyrics so here are some easy ones: the bus came by and I got on that's when it all began there was cowboy Neal at the wheel of the bus to never ever land extra points for naming the literary classic that the stanza references. and I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico baked by the sun every time I go to Mexico and I'm still... original artist please sixties style: wake up in the morning slaving for bread sir so that every mouth can be fed and then theres kill the white people but buy my record first and of course then he messed up his life went and beat up his wife now the floozies gone and found another sucker shes going to turn him on to drink then lead him to the brink and when his moneys gone she'll leave him in the gutter its such a shame edited to correct poor memory lyrics... jb

and then front number two, work continues on the Beat, working on stance and fitting the tires and wheels up under the body. I think on this one I will go for a mild "stanced" look, but only mild because my sense of grace prevents getting very radical with it. I have had to narrow these old school rims quite a bit to get them to fit and the rears still need another 1/16" taken off to clear the shock towers better. and I still haven't fitted brakes to the wheels yet, but again I want it to be more or less hugging the ground (but still reasonably realistic). also I just got through cutting that coffee can exhaust off and recanting it upward and more at an angle out the back to the left. looks much better than dragging on the ground parallel to it. again comments questions criticisms encouraged! jb

ok time for a quick update, on two fronts. front number one, the Copen is pretty much done except for mounting the windshield wipers and painting the side marker lights. wheels look sweet and it really does evoke the image of a Porsche speedster. stance is just about how I want it too... as usual comments questions criticisms cheerfully fielded thanks for looking jb

Sad day in Vintage Racing.
jbwelda replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I shed a tear for the cars, especially that Jag, but not necessarily for the owners. its just money and they probably got plenty. make a good tax writeoff. jb -

what is "good design"?
jbwelda replied to southpier's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
actually with all the regulations you have to mind these days, "design" for designs sake is a lost art. any "design" has to keep certain things in mind, passenger safety, streamlining to cut through the wind and thus increase gas mileage, bumper heights, junk hanging off that might decapitate passers by. with all that in mind the look of that Nissan suv starts looking better. still its the ugliest car on the road just about. jb -
Clarkson does it again.
jbwelda replied to 935k3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
this Clarkson dolt and brian Williams are going to start a new show. mostly centered on all the cars brian Williams has owned and loved and then Clarkson will kick him in the ass and tell him no, that was helicopters jb -

the home page of this here very site cites the current issue as 192 January 2015 which includes an article on "kitbashing" a mooneyes dragster, something I might have an interest in. so it appears the next issue would be 193, not 194 jb

ask yourself: how do those big insurance companies afford such large skyscrapers? its not by giving money away. and most claims adjusters are dumb. right. dumb like a fox. and it oftentimes has the desired effect: less cash out of their pockets. an old adage that remains true: never buy insurance from a company with the word "Farm" or its derivatives in its name. jb

but here is a tactic that is sometimes used, by both buyer and seller: wait until the very last day to leave feedback, possibly the very last hour/minute, and then leave negative feedback, either in the form of literal negative feedback (buyer) or "positive" feedback with negatory comments in the comments section. then the other party will not have time to post "retaliatory" feedback, assuming they have not left any feedback as yet. also, sometimes less than legit sellers will try to put off delivery until AFTER feedback can be submitted before making it apparent the merchandise is not on the way. so if you think you are being put off, or shined on, you quite possibly are, the seller might be waiting until the time limit to be over before just blowing you off altogether and then you will not have recourse through the feedback system (and likely not through paypal at that point either). jb -
Old Monogram Parts Restored ?
jbwelda replied to Pete L.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
kool breeze bob, but I ain't goin anywhere anytime soon. well that's not strictly true, I am going to Utah for a few weeks in a couple of weeks. I also don't think I will belabor this any further. the point is obvious to those with eyes to see and ears to hear. its really not my intention to be rubbing peoples noses in it. jb -
to me, an "aggressive stance" is nose down and rear at or below stock height, like its a cat ready to pounce. a "ready to flip over backward" stance is nose up and tail stock or down below stock height. not really "aggressive", more like handicapped by high center of gravity. jb

Old Monogram Parts Restored ?
jbwelda replied to Pete L.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was not strictly interpreting what you said, bobthehobbyguy, in any manner but now that you mention it, lets look at your post prior to mine above, and I am condensing here so hopefully it will not be out of context: >your heavy handed abrasive manner...drive others away...little more diplomatic way. three phrases directed at me, personally, and not the issue at hand which I brought up. at any rate the personalities are not at issue here; I took issue at a statement, made with authority and certainty, and as an absolute statement without ifs ands or buts, that the Blue Bandito was gone never to return. I take issue with that not because I dislike someone, or necessarily because i think they are placing themselves as gurus above the rest of us, but primarily because the statement does not seem to be true, at all, not from the facts I can find at hand anyway. if someone had or has contrary facts, then the thing to do is to post them, not to get all self righteous and hurt that I am challenging the statement, and threaten to leave here in retaliation for this imagined slight. so far what I have seen is a lot of the latter and none of the former. jb -
Old Monogram Parts Restored ?
jbwelda replied to Pete L.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
hello somebody, instead of the typical character assassination so often resorted to when one cannot come up with any other defense, please address the FACT that I posted above. the FACT is the thing is available direct from Revell/Monogram right now with no sign whatsoever of it being discontinued now or in the near future nor any sign that they sold off all their stock to some secret dealer. when confronted with fact, not rumor or fiction, I will gladly back off and apologize to all I have offended...until then, my argument stands. I could go into all sorts of possibilities of how an offhand remark could have been taken as an insiders word when it was not meant to, or how executives told someone something that later turned out to not be true but then I would be dealing in fabrication which is not my intent. lets see whose job it is to batten down loose cannons this week. jb
