  1. Far out. I remember those days. Go away.
  2. I don't know anything of him either. Don't need to. If the dude did a suicide number, that is not "passing away". That just sucks. Poor family members or loved ones.
  3. I can't say at all that I was a fan of their stuff. But I'm learning to cringe at the age of those who pass who were young when I was.
  4. Forget the above. I just realized how you get the answers. Anyone can win. I still like the early Dire Straits.
  5. I have to out myself....who cares? Back to reality though. I'm a fan of the gentleman above me. Sfan Goch. Good stuff.
  6. ....and this one; I seen a girl on a one-way corridor Stealing down a wrong-way street For all the world like an urban toreador She had wheels on, on her feet
  7. Mike, those words came up later. Swift. Really swift. @Joe just above. I know those kind of places, the Gasthaus modern small joints. The man you mentioned wouldn't get that far along in older type establishments.
  8. Welcome back! I think you'll find lots of older type guys here who still have fun building models.
  9. Hello Simon, I'm pleased to see gents from the UK here. m8, I even understand that one. With your presence, maybe we can learn better English here.
  10. I agree with all of the above. I hate "way cool", among others.
  11. 1/16 is just out of my league. I have no experience with this higher level of modeling.
  12. Yes, the former Ferrari boss said Shumacher "was ruined" by the accident. There are no exact reports of his actual status, period. Here's a pic of his house, I don't like it. With that kind of cash, I'd do different.
  13. Jesse, what scale are the Hemis? They look very good!
  14. Terry, that looks like really clean prep work. The rear end parts especially, I don't see any seams in the halves. Do you fill the glued together areas? Another question, I don't understand what you mean when you wrote you "you cut off all of the locating pins". The rear axle housings are smooth as compared to the AMT kit I have in progress. What's up? Michael
  15. This is looking real good Gino. Those fenders are a hit! Very nice.
  16. Good story Tom! Tearing that load down, ridiculous. Must of been a lot of cops too keeping an eye on things too. Lots of manpower involved. I just did a search on this 1166E, what a beast! I'll bet you can still hear that blast! Those cars were not especially insulated either. Insanely loud and scary.
  17. Clayton, OK, I get the rift. Thanks for the info.
  18. "changing a light bulb"....lol. Like one on a ceiling, I'll hold the bulb, and another turns the ladder I'm standing on. KJ, I understand better now, thanks. Clayton, I'd bet that one opened your eyes. BANG! Ha, I read once a forum entry from a trucker who described rolling along at 70mph. and a car comes out on the highway right in front of you, only to make a turn soon at the next road. "Lets you fart foam rubber". lmao.
  19. Now this was something I read earlier and was really surprised. Saving weight. OK, how many gallons go in the tank, 200? That would be about 1400 lbs. (?). The tank weighs empty maybe 200 lbs.(?). Does this make a difference in driving behavior? Or is it more about saving truck weight means carrying heavier loads = more money? Are there any road scales anymore on the highways?
  20. Thanks Jesse. I've made replies too I wish I hadn't. Good stuff here.
  21. Thanks KJ. I figured you know a thing or two about changing tires. I saw a young blonde honey on the Tube driving a big truck (automatic). I'll bet she knows the number of a roadside service. lol. Anyone ever had a scary moment with a tire blowout?
  22. Geez. Guys, it's only a model. Even though this project is not in the "Workbench" forum, it's still a WIP. Here's a quote from the Workbench; "Rules for On The Workbench For those viewing others who are presenting their works in progress in this section of the forum, please keep your criticisms, sarcasms, and other comments to yourself, unless the builder/poster has specifically asked for such replies". Maybe it would be better to let guys build there models as they see fit, and be a little more friendly. The above entry is a fine example of why I don't visit the Drag Forum much anymore.
  23. Terry, looking like good progress to me. Who made the resin cab? I think it's good that you reduce the thickness of the visible areas, that stuff can be real thick. I used a JF resin body on a car project early last year. It was not a clean deal, porosity everywhere. I had big time trouble closing all of the pores. How do you approach this menacing procedure? Michael
  24. Thanks guys for adding some info here. For my ongoing project I'd like to know when I flip the lid on a box or two, what to put in there. Now I know. QUESTION, NEW ONE. I don't think I need to start another topic, right here is OK. So, any of you truckers ever had to change a tire while on the road? Do you even carry a jack on board that can handle the job? How do you change a tire on a big rig? Can one guy do it? (I'll bet KJ can offer a word or two here. I've read that he started at an early age)
  25. Rob, you just go and cut the doors out? No way I can handle that. Looking good.
