  1. Hi Gino, With those tires and wheels you chose this will be a looker. I'm looking forward to your mods. So the hood can be tilted forward or each side tilted up? Is that a "butterfly" deal? Is this only with the needle nose hood? Great project.
  2. Ken, that's really a good looking line setup, I really like this phase. I really think this kind of stuff adds immensely to the finished model.
  3. Wow, Gene....that's a fabulous hotrod. The color just makes it my opinion, it's delicious. A wonderful example of a cool car.
  4. Looking good Clayton. I don't understand why you fill in things. What's the deal with the "po boy" look? What makes this different?
  5. Great looking model truck, very cleanly built. I'd be happy to have this one on the shelf.
  6. One more thing, those yellow blocks under the tanks are cute. You made those scratch, huh? They fit good.
  7. Sean, "artistic license"....that's a good one. To tilt the cab (or big hood), how much do you recommend to "mount" up front beforehand? All of the integral parts, radiator and all? Or would you say the tilting mechanism is most important, the rest will have to match up? In other words, how do you attach the radiator and other parts so they can be later removed. To me this is just at this time a real wobbly and shaky set up. How do you make the concerned parts set so that you can exactly figure out where the "tilt" has to be. I have no problems with the "tilt mechanism" as such, just the other stuff drives me up the wall.
  8. Yes, again this shows that wives know how to support our hobby, and show good taste as well.
  9. Hello Don, that's a fine looking boat! Seems like lots of guys set these Dumas Boats up for RC. Yes, it's a 1/8 scale boat. It has a wood frame construction with a hard PVC shell (for the water, RC duty) then a mahogany veneer. The kit looks like it builds up like the 1:40 and 1:50 historical sailing vessels. Meaning double planking on a real wood frame. In your case, the pvc goes over the wooden frame, then the mahogany veneer on top of that. This seems like a very fine model, the Dumas Boats too. These boats will finish up very nicely and it will be a stunning model for sure. I love wooden ship models, it's been my personal favorite modeling type theme for a long time. They're breathtaking when finished properly. Great project. Michael
  10. Bias? i didn't know that. Do they still make Peterbilts?
  11. That's a fine looking hotrod Clayton! Great color choices and the wheels really make it. I like the windshield change too.
  12. OK. This is a start, many thanks. You "cast a few up". Styrene? The outer rim is from aluminum I gather. Correct? What are the spokes made of? How did you choose to fasten these to the rims?
  13. Somehow I find it difficult is to paint a model in a blue color. I love blue, my favorite color. When I try a cool looking (blue is a cold color) dark blue it just doesn't come out like I'd wish. These are very nice examples of different blues.
  14. Hi JR! Well looky here, man I'm glad to see you here with a project. Great stuff, and as rowdy as you are on the drag strip what could be better than doing some big nasty burnouts! This is coming along nicely, and the paint teasers you show kick butt. Now I have another reason to visit the Drag Forum. Greetings, Michael
  15. Hey Joe, I just had a look....man that is a terrace! Geez, fire up the grill, lets get something going. Looking good. I had to laugh. I saw the pic of Niko's car and thought it was at the beach, not in the snow. You can't take the Florida out of this guy. Your shop looks good.
  16. Hi Jeff, welcome to the Drag Racing Forum. You've posted some nice looking Altereds. It appears to me you're new here, we like reading about details too. Some guys have asked, but I don't see anything yet from your side, maybe I've overlooked a read or two. Won't be the 1st time. So Jeff, you got your eyes on? What's with the "During this time I learned how to make accurate 3 by 18 Americans"? You haven't forgotten already, have you?
  17. Excellent choice. These cars are just unique. You have a great collection, well done.
  18. Hi Chad, looks good and nasty too. What's a "Tyrone build"? I don't know much about these kind of drag cars.
  19. Hi Glenn, welcome to the forum. Your models look excellent and I like your choice, hotrods and customs with a great paint job just kick butt. Enjoy the site. Michael
  20. It sure looks good in color.
  21. Hi Gator, I'm real interested in your mods and enjoy checking out your progress. I like! Question: The rear long fenders, did you make these to fit 3 axles? Were they originally for a 2 axle setup? Also since you asked above, if you don't mind me sticking my head out a bit, it looks like this will be a real workhorse. Maybe a big chrome bumper up front will be out of place? I'd say if the wheels are painted, then the bumper too. Michael
  22. Come on guys. Arizona ain't wet. Maybe that ole truck leaked and made a puddle. LOL. Great pics! I like looking here.
  23. Brad, I meant the frame from the Altered T you have on your bench. That one would probably fit.
  24. Welcome to the forum Jan. I thought you only made black cars and trucks. Does that good looking black Chevelle still make you happy? Michael, alias Relikt from way back when.
  25. This is a great theme Brad, thought about this one myself. I have a resin chopped 32 Ford stowed away. I've had a look at this setup before, I think even the frame from the one you're finishing up will fit without much work. Just an idea.
