That is a beautiful 64, I think Plymouth's best looking model. Do the front wheels turn on the Lindberg Plymouth? Turned wheels make a real nice stance for photos. Very clean build and looks right. Michael

Outstanding model and beautifully presented. Michael

Hi Jim, sharp looking hot rod. I'm getting acquainted with H of K paints, which base coat color did you choose? Also, did you clear it with H of K too? Michael

Writing text on plastic model windows.. What works?
10thumbs replied to roym's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Roger, those windows look real nice! I like what Bill Ace shows too, looks like chalk. Michael -
Tim, Thanks for the info. I have yet another question. I've been in Germany for so many years that I can only relate to size measurements in metric system. The nuts and bolts you used on the front suspension, could you tell me the size you used so that I could order the correct parts? I'll be studying this build for a long time. I don't plan on ever attempting your kind of detailing, but I would like to spruce up a few elements in our model kits, especially hot rods. Thanks in advance, Michael

Weber Manifold for 427?
10thumbs replied to Quick GMC's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I agree with Ace, the intake on the Revell 427 Ford is the largest I've seen and it's really wide and flat. Cameron, could you clarify "HRM" and "TDR" for me? Intersting topic. Michael -
Tim, your model is just amazing and I personally have never seen anything like it. If you don't mind, i have a couple of questions; 1. Where did you get the material for the frame? Hobby Shop, or from a 1:1 workplace? Electric or flame soldered? 2. Front suspension, I've seen nice coil over shocks on websites, but I haven't found any A arms or anything that compares to what you show here. Did you fabricate all of the pieces? Thanks for showing us this masterpiece! I will keep this as my A-Number One reference. Michael

Hot Rod Suspension Parts..
10thumbs replied to 10thumbs's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
OK, thanks for the insight. The Lindberg 64 Dodge I finsihed up recently needs larger tires in the front, 1:24 and taller tires would've looked better! But it's finished, and I'm not looking back. I'll have to do a search on the 4 link system, it looks cool, but a nightmare to adjust or even set up as far as my abilities go. The hot rod looks right, by the way! A vendor on this site has some nice rod ends and the things I'm looking for, so he'll be getting a PM soon. Michael -
Hot Rod Suspension Parts..
10thumbs replied to 10thumbs's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
OK, thats good news. Would the same apply for tires and wheels too? Interchangeability maybe, or even if the same, is their much of a visual difference between a complete tire/wheel combp in !:25 / 1:24 ? While we're at it, what kind of cars would use a 4 link in the rear? Later model fuel altereds too? Just ProMods? Michael -
OK! Got it. Thanks guys. Are all other conventional US V8 motors then SOHC, or just OHC, or known only as OHV? The more I think about it....well, terminology is fact in this case. I don't mean to be a clown, I have some hands on knowledge about motors and quick street type cars, but not much Ford experience. I think the description is lacking. Single overhead is single, dual overhead is two. Why "overhead" in the first place? Does this mean over (above) the cylinder head (midline, or above the point of combustion) or above the usual cam tunnel (above the crank) or just somewhere above the centerline of the motor itself? Is the Boss 429 then a SOHC motor too? Again, I'm not pestering, I'm just maybe a pita, small bore. I'm just intersted too. Michael

Yeah Cato, just shrink 'em, that sounds about right! Can you send me a set too? Geez, Webers are so cool! Any Resin Gurus listening? Michael -
Hello Guys, Could someone direct me to a website that offers rod ends and coil over pieces, and parts of this nature in 1:25? I've seen some in 1:24 that seem really nice, but haven't found any in 1:25. I would like to dress up some Hot Rod and Fuel Altered kits. Thanks, Michael

Good info. Question, why is the SOHC motor called a SOHC motor, when it has 2 overhead cams? Michael PS: I have the AMT 33 Willys and the 33 Van, both have the SOHC motor as mentioned already.

I've read as well this news. Interesting. Not much available here in Germany either. Strange. Michael -

Where to buy engine kits
10thumbs replied to gtcapri's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I got recently auf ebay the Revell kits, 2 each of Pontiac 421, Chevy 283, Ford 427 and the Cadillac motor. 8 motors for $25 !! I've seen some decent Resin Kits for small money too, much less than the Ross Gibson pieces for $25 and up. Michael -
....gassing meats! Yuk. Here in Germany they're putting oxygen in the sealed plastic containers. It makes the meat super red and it stays that way longer. The big time processing companies have flooded supermarkets with the stuff, but consumers are becoming more aware. If that's not enough, the poultry industry again gets the prize for being the most obnoxious cheating food suppliers. One scandal after the next, the last one being motor oil in the feed. Supposedly made the feed easier for the poor chickens to eat. Oh, what about tons, I mean tons of horsemeat in the "100% pure ground beef" !! There is no end to it, chemicals in al of the packaged foods, "taste enhancement" they call it, and in the same breath they say it's completely legal. Well, governments are not at all liable, and laws cannot protect us from criminal acts. Loopholes and big money. Meats from the supermarket? No, I'll pass. Convenience foods, nope. No more sausage either. "Hella Pena Burger"? lol. That sounds like a winner for sure! Michael

Michael Schumacher in a coma after a ski accident

Exactly. Even here in Germany now, the press and media leave them alone. That is very rare. Let them be, they are only people who suffer from fate, like so many of us. Michael -

I think info will become less as time passes. Mrs.Schuhmacher has achieved per court order that photos of her around the Clinic may no longer be publicized. When Mr.Schuhmacher is able to present himself, then he will. If not, then....well, time will tell. -
I agree! Thanks guys for the links. @James, you helped a lot to clear this up for me, many thanks. @Gregory M....bookmarked! @Bill, Ace Guy, you also make this place great! Thanks. Michael

I agree to the perfection, just an outstanding build. Thanks for the insight about parts used. Michael

Here comes a D/A question; The wishbones on the sides, do those things actually move, or are they for adjustment purposes only. I've never seen any on a real car, much less on a car thats moving. Anyone? The altereds are in my opinion the coolest of all drag machines. Insane! Michael

Hi Aaron, a beautiful model there. What I miss on such a perfect model is that the slicks are not sanded a bit to take the shine off the surface. The car looks so good, better than the model used for the box photos. The shiny slicks just seem to stick out more since the rest is so perfect. Just my opinion, I hope this sets well with you. Could you tell us how you painted the tin work? Which, if any aftermarket parts were used in the build, like on the motor? A fantastic model, respect! Michael
