Neat job on the snap kit, Easy kit to modify. greg -
I would check with the store manager as the company policy is that the 40% off is bi-weekly and maybe your there on the wrong week. greg

Fire truck decals, 25th scale
GLMFAA1 replied to Engine 51's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
A lot of fire departments have trademarked their logos so it's a little harder to use as scale decals. Bilbozodecals – For Police Diecast Builders greg -
Good luck in the dioramas. One of my pet projects that I would have like to have done was '77 Sunset Strip' with the 59 t-bird and Kookies hot rod. Elvira's T bird kit, and maybe Roth's 'tweedy pie' coming out of Dino's Lodge. Any idea on the colors? greg

Gee, no thanks to the first responders. greg -
This is what I did with the original kit, Ford show car: Tissue paper used for rear canvas top, Balsa wood strips on body and Rapidiograph pen used to detail rims. greg

The light bar on the suburban is a Federal sign and signal 'VisiBar'. Popular light bar in the 60's until the introduction of the 'TwinSonic' in the 70's. The motor in one of the beacons rotated both lights by a chain in the crossbar that kept the lights in sync. The best replica is the lightbar off of the JoHan police car. If you can find an original released kit the lightbar domes were tinted and with some of the popular removers they are clear plastic, Red and blue lenses were popular police emergency lights in that period. Haven't seen the series, greg

My irk today is with a certain cellular service that markets to the senior citizens. It seems that when a phone is no longer updated, they have no sympathy for their customers who are mostly on fixed income and cannot afford new phones. greg

I need info on the AMT/R2 Dodge Van kits.
GLMFAA1 replied to Oldmopars's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Here are some suggestions for raised tops. Some tops left the cab roof alone and cut after the driver's compartment for the raised portion. Some carried over the raised roof marker that was on Cadillac ambulances. Note some roofs are angled and have light pods that are vertical to the ground. good luck in your endeavor. greg -

The actual ambulances from that era were the tradesman with the windows on the passenger side (they had a name for it but it's not in the memory bank right now). They were also the extended body and extended wheelbase. Kit wheelsbase is scale 109 inch where as majority of the ambulances were the 127 inch wheelbase. When Dodge went to a standard wheelbase of 109 inch most ambulance conversion ceased on Dodges. To do a true Dodge ambulance of that era you need 3 van kits, one windowed and two non window vans to stretch the body. Here is patched together body to make long wheelbase tradesman. This a Braun ambulance of that era. This is an Ampar ambulance note the rear extension and the blank between front door and side doors. I'll check my stash and get the roof measurements for you. greg -

I could see a whole squadron of these: Tuskegee red tail, Quicksliver, Yeager's, Roush's, Old Crow, Tugboat (Empire of the Sun movie) Hopefully no invasion stripes or maybe. Years ago Aurora did a series of race cars with military decals: Jaguar, Ford GT, Chapparal. Nice looking project greg -

I would suggest CA glue. I used it on this Sutphen ladder tower mating evergreen strips with brass L 's to form the aerial cage. greg
