Mars Attacks!

Need to add an extra base. Add recording of Slim Whitman and make the helmet a snow globe with green snow that cycles when Slim is played. ACk,ACK,ACK greg -
I have used weld-on 3 for years. It has priced itself out of my hobby budget. The last I had ($28.00/8oz. at local plastic fabricator) I mixed with Tamiya thin cement. Got the best of both worlds: quick adhesion, capillary action, and strong bonding. Local fabricator was BYOC. (Bring Your Own Can back for refill at same cost) greg

My condolences to all the families and to the aviation community for this loss. As a side, this was the first wok movement I saw and heard about as it went from Confederate Air Force to Commemorative Air Force. Just like 'Smokey the Bear' changing from forest fires to wildfires. greg

Just one of the influences that got me into the automotive hobby. One of my mother's customers had a green MGTC and took me for a ride as a young child. My first sports car ride. Her next car was a 55baby blue T Bird. The second sports car ride. Nice job on the build. greg

WWl Bomber
GLMFAA1 replied to Lucius Molchany's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Phil: What is this bomber called? It's a wonder that it had enough power to get off the ground. Nice to see someone from 'Strutters' greg This is at USAF museum in Dayton Ohio, This Caproni Ca. 36 was hidden and escaped the destruction of weapons after the war. Unbelievable example of mastery construction of early aviation. -
What would YOU like to see as a model
GLMFAA1 replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Movie/TV car series: starting with ones that were already produced like 'get smart' Tiger, Mannix Olds. Batmobile, etc 77 Sunset strip set: Kookies hot road, and Efrem's T bird. Just watched 'Smokey and the Bandit' would make a nice set, Firebird, Truck and trailer, and sheriff's Pontiac LeMans Then we could have the Jack Webb Mark VII series, 'Adam 12"s Chrysler products, 'Emergency's Dodge, Crown pumper, Ward LaFrance pumper, (could even relabel the AMT ALF Ladder as there was one used) 'Dragnets' Fords both 50' and 60's. How about 'The D.I.' Marine Jeep. Doodad features that could be added: drive-in refreshment stand (use that Coca-Cola license), drive in speaker stands, TV sets with decal of TV shows, figures, props, telephone booth. sheriff Justice, Fred the dog and Sally, Burt, and Jerry greg -
Nice build of the OTB 'hoopie'. The kit had many wrong things that could have been easily fixed. Here is a picture of the anniversary OSP car I built using Art Anderson's All American casting way back when. In 1993 OSP used Aerosonic light bars and was transitioning to Whelan light bars. The rub rail was removed from the front doors, push bumper was small and siren on roof in light bar. Communications was still low band radio and LEARN UHF. The interior color was maroon with gray front seat covers. I guess the buckeyes would notice the flying tires faces forward. I had friends who were OSP officers who got OSP models from me. In the backround is the Tamiya Jeep Cherokee which was also used by OSP. You could make OSP vehicles a full time hobby with all the vehicles they have used. greg

The poor man's Q siren using the parts from the AMT Americal La France kits. It's not exact but shape is close enough, detailing is left up to builder. greg

BRBO Autocar tow truck (DONE)
GLMFAA1 replied to landman's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hint: From late Tom Showers, here is a method of making round slam locks. Drill a hole the size of the lock, then on the back of the door place thin sheet piece at the lock hole covering it. Take a small dowel of plastic and place in hole at the diameter of the hole. Done many years ago. Photo not the greatest. but it is an example of his work. greg -

BRBO Autocar tow truck (DONE)
GLMFAA1 replied to landman's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nice project, gonna look good. Phil Jenson's 'how to' was on the money. Comparing it to a First Gear die cast. I used airplane aileron hinges for the side out riggers doors. You will probably find something better; this was built when I first saw Phils article way back when. greg -
Welcome. We need more Buckeyes greg

Revell Ranger bass boat

I agree, I wonder if Revell had other plans for the trailer in future kits. greg
