Years ago my friend and I got a commision job from BFI for some models. We used Jim Etter cabs and pick up arms, and the MPC mixer chassis. The containers were all scratch built with evergreen sheet and sqaure stock The conventional is the AMT Mack greg

I have sold this unit so I thought I'd share it before it leaves my fire station. Started out with the Johnny Lightning Jurassic park die cast Hummer, made the back assembly, added the Revell front mount pump to the rear, made up hydraulic rescue power unit and reel from the Italeri Mercedes wagon and then added some fire stuff from AMT and Monogram kits, the front remote monitor is scratch built plastistruct elbow and starters and an oil filter for the motors. greg

Mack Fire Engine
GLMFAA1 replied to southernboy's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The Yellow one I built was a gift to a very young fire buff that is a son of one of my fellow workers. So in order for it to last the car case was glued shut. It sits in a place of honor in his bedroom. The other gift I made with these is for newborn babies of firefighters, I would hog out the hose bed and stick Oshkosh baby socks in the hose bed and the truck was either blue or pink and the engine number was the birth date and the fire department the family name greg -

Another nice conversion is the match of the Louisville and the AMT ALF pumper body. This was done a few years ago and was 'weathered' by my house fire. greg -
