  1. nice work so far, wheels look great with aluminum insert and tire logo
  2. i agree 100% , ordered the 15 inch minilite wheels for trans am race cars from Randy at Model Builders Warehouse. the wheels are perfect and come with hubs! Randy's service is also outstanding. quick replies to e-mails and fast shipping.
  3. i found those gauge faces hard to cut out , so i used gauge decals from this street burner cobra kit. painted the gauge part all silver, applied decals and finished off with a dab of clear 5 minute opoxy to make it look like glass. maybe hard to tell from picture
  4. from my cobra world registry book, competition cobra's like (csx3009 essex wire) ran smooth chrome valve covers ,single 4 barrel and no air cleaner. an aircraft battery behind passenger seat and some used a different drivers seat. about an hour drive from my house is the Cobra Experience Museum Martinez California . here are a few pics of csx3022 competition cobra.
  5. looking forward to seeing progress and a great way to show respect and remember a very cool guy and forum member
  6. 1969 super cobra jet 428 mustang factory 4 speed
  7. that looks great ! and nice to see a daytona coupe in another color other than guardsman blue.
  8. yah it's got full story behind car. interesting cobra and only cobra with HEM vin number
  9. JC i bet you already have this one in the works. maybe another HRM build ?
  10. i have a ford p68 slot car body kit by Volki, definitly fiberglass. i'm kinda amazed that a model kit body can be made with fiberglass and still have some details. but quality not so great.
  11. looking really good . always liked the quality of the 1/12 tamiya kits. some day i will get working my lola t70
  12. awesome ! great detail
  13. yah i picked up this one, not so reasonable priced. not many detailed pictures but great history of cars.
  14. nice boss 429 , unique color blue!!
  15. JC ,looks great a long with the rest of the cobra builds. cobras sure are hard to keep track of. 3016 raced at sebring like your build. then crashed at watkins glen. the driver Bob Grossman sold it and bought 3022 and it raced gold with black stripes #6. 3016 was restored blue/white stripe #7 3022 was restored just like the #6 sebring car i think i have this info right, hard to tell with these cars.
  16. cobra wagon came out great ! looks like it could have been a real car.
  17. fantastic cobra build, driving lights look perfect. on to another cobra project?
  18. your cobra build is looking great ! love the old racing photos. just think of the safety standards (there was none) guy taking photo must have been 5 feet from the race track!
  19. early go pro ? good eye , also a looks like a goodyear decal missing on quarter panel (race photo) i would say maybe a different race but both pictures have the same white painted truck tire on in-feild
  20. a good shot at passenger side, looks like you need a little rear quarter damage
  21. JC, not sure how accurate this is, but this is from 1/12 model factory hiro kit sebring version . different from side to side and that small decal behind gulf would be a small cobra decal
  22. here is the real deal. i was told at cobra museum that most racing 427 cobra's had black engine blocks
  23. thanks peteski, i saw the remove chrome sticky thread after i posted. will have to try Purple stuff.
