  1. a few more clear coated . cleared all bodies the same, monogram/ revel and studio 27 decals had slight wrinkles. V-R-M decals zero issues and no wrinkles . after a few very light coats, i now feel confident i can just bury the model with clear over V-R-M decals. great decals !!
  2. getting close to the finish. did a test of house of kolor automotive clear UC-35. a little decal wrinkle on the 6 car but not too bad. i have a can of Zero Paint clearcoat lacquer, but was afraid lacquer would wrinkle or melt decals. has anyone used Zero Paint lacquer over decals ?
  3. a little progress, build up modified chassis and started ramp pivot post. sleeper cab from aitruckmodels.com a great product and fast shipping. would definitly buy from them again. need to find some good diamond plate ramps.
  4. i would say, keep it as it is now ! looks too nice to be in a car body and never see it. perfect for an engine stand for a race shop diorama.
  5. hey Michael, another great looking Ford motor ! will this one be available for purchase? Bill
  6. i swear by iwata products. i use the iwata power jet pro compressor and iwata hp-cr airbrush. also use the iwata neo and it works great for the price at about $50 from coastairbrush.com the compressor is super quiet with a reserve tank, 2 hose outlets with 2 seperate water traps and 2 seperate air regulators.
  7. welcome to the forum Blake. i'm not sure if someone mentioned this bit of advise. always scrape away chrome or paint where you intend to apply glue. glue doesn't adhere well to chrome or paint.
  8. great pictures Gary and a little bit of race history i didn't know.
  9. my cobra builds are getting close to being done so it's time for a hauler. started with AMT Ford c600 stake truck. flatbed and wheelbase are too short, but the trailer from AMT c900 mail truck is perfect length. thanks to Gary ( Gramps 46 ) for the link to scale drawings
  10. thanks guys, all bodies were sprayed with Zero Paint starting with grey primer part # ZP-3001 the dark blue cobra was sprayed with Guardsman blue part# ZP-1080 They also make the lighter cobra Viking blue part #ZP-1107 paints are pre-thinned and i really like how well it sprays out but still need to spray the Zero Paint clear and hope nothing happens to the decals
  11. it's looking great Michael. now the 70 javelin looks much different then a 68, but i can't tell if the 69 javelin is much different then the 68. the bodies and grilles look the same.
  12. YES ! YES! YES! Can't wait to get my hands on this kit. I wonder if Tamiya marketing people look at this forum ? this kit has been on my (what kit do you want to see) list about a dozen times. now lets see some cool decal sets and some aftermarket photo etch parts!
  13. a few ready for clear coat, #71 Terlingua is a Studio 27 decal set and the rest are V-R-M decals . first time using V-R-M decals, very impressed with quality of decals and how well they lay down.
  14. a little progress. the bigger kits are great , but i'm still dropping tiny bolts on the floor . thank god the kit comes with spare parts bag
  15. some good progress over the weekend. right hand drive interior almost done and interior with odd ball roll bar for csx 3176 almost done. a few bodies got base coats
  16. Gary , your pictures are always helpful and appreciated. still haven't found what they call a 2 story falcon cab. looking to scratch build with upper cab from ford c600 and grille from this 1963 n600 ford from motor city resin casters
  17. thanks for the advice Brian, looks like a good starting point. would need to find some vintage style wheels.
  18. i hope to build this shelby team hauler and need advice on a 1/25 or 1/24 kit to start from. early sixties, possibly a moving trailer.
