  1. Ray , great job so far. very clean build. round piece on roll bar is an upper third brake light (ahead of the there time) a quick easy trick is to add a red lense. i think i used one from a semi truck model.
  2. no, nothing completed. i have many hobbies and summer time is about mountain biking and working on 1/1 scale mustang project. crappy weather coming soon and will be back on building models. thanks for the interest and checking on post. still have 3 427 cobra's that are almost done. light blue for seat insert (middle section) is rust-oleum from ace hardware Satin Lagoon. dark blue and main color is Zero paint navy blue ZP-1473 and added drops of zero paint Lola t70 Royal blue ZP-1054 to get desired color but the navy blue from zero paint by itself is very close and will look good.
  3. if it's really csx2431 it's worth BIG MONEY ! A special comp cobra with wide rear fenders and cutback doors that was almost exclusively raced by Ken Miles. Modified suspension and trick a arms that made the car 2 inches lower then a regular comp cobra. also leased to MGM studios for one of the cobra's in the movie Spinout. even if it's not csx2431,it's still one bad-ass ride and worth a ton of money
  4. thanks Frank, the HRM kit comes with decals to do either #10 Sunoco Penske car or #12 car.
  5. i am not sure about a dedicated website. i get all my HRM kits and parts from Randy at modelbuilderswh.com ignore the everything out of stock and send him an e-mail for what you are looking for. i usually get kits fairly quick. Randy is a good guy and service is great.
  6. i'm not sure if its still available. you could use accurate miniatures grand sport corvette for donor, but would need to find fuel injection motor.
  7. a little body filler and primer on modified hood.
  8. awesome detail ! would love to have a set of those aluminum wheel rings. i have the Aston Martin version waiting to be built.
  9. very early version had fuel injection and looked more like a stock corvette
  10. that is a good question, i did the #4 car with tape and from the race photo you can see the tape edge. i think the 67 car will look better with molded in hood scoop , even though it may not be correct.
  11. received my sunburst halibrand cobra wheels and Mike at 3dscaleparts.com did a great job. can be purchased without tires
  12. a little hood work , body filler still to come.
  13. go for it ! the kit is fairly easy. hood louvers can be tricky and get a set of headers from HRM . Headers from kit don't clear frame very well.
  14. nice work on the flip top and completed cobras look great also
  15. very nice builds and conversion looks great
  16. that's a cool old resin cast, must be heavy ! if you haven't built the HRM version yet, you should give it a try. from my small amount of progress , i'm very impressed with quality and correct detail of the kit.
  17. one big block done for one of the roaster's. rather plain looking compared to small block with webers
  18. thanks for replies and interest in my project. yah i wish someone made the correct hood, will need to fabricate/modify 2 hoods and remove rear oil cooler behind back glass. as 005 went to Sebring in 65 they kept the flat hood but new paint job. the Accurate Miniatures kit has the decals , but only restored version hood with louvers. a fleet of gt 350 R 's are on the list at some point. along with a fleet of 289 comp cobras, 330p4 Ferrari's , Lola t70's, Chaparral's........... i think that is why i build in bulk. yes, and your photo's have been great reference! Restored versions are almost always different then how they raced and i like making raced versions not restored. the roadster kits by HRM are really detailed and look accurate.
  19. still waiting for parts and decals to finish my last 3 427 cobras, time to start building the competition. a few Grand Sport Corvettes
  20. Halibrand sunburst cobra wheels/ 3dscaleparts.com
  21. yah i went with Gravity Colors Spain and had excellent fast service.
  22. i asked Mike at 3dscaleparts.com to make sunburst cobra wheels in 1/24 scale for a cobra project i'm building. i believe he went of MPC 1/16 scale 427 cobra to make wheels 3d printed. if your looking for just tires, give him an e-mail and see what he might come up with.
