  1. thanks Josh , the Corvette team is almost done. Finishing up side pipes and hope to be done this weekend.
  2. Looking forward to your build. I have a few different HRM kits but not the Daytona Coupe. the Grand Sport corvette is the only HRM kit i have finished (well almost done) and really impressed with kit and how accurate it was to the real race car. Your builds have looked fantastic and this should be a good looking finished product' Bill
  3. working on some details. full grill for 2 cars, one gets a spoiler and one gets a fan shroud ?/ light mount
  4. clear coat done , i'm glad that part is done.
  5. thanks guys for the positive feedback and comments. for the #12 roadster i used a decal from v-r-m decal sheet #008 a straight decal on a somewhat flat surface , a challenge but not too bad. for the #2 coupe i tried to use decals from the same v-r-m decal sheet and had no luck getting decal to lay down correct so i painted stripe on.
  6. final car has decals and 6 are ready for clear coat.
  7. nice build and great paint work. open side glass is a cool touch
  8. #2 sebring car painted and #12 roadster ready for clear coat.
  9. thanks guys, yah the dull paint looks more realistic, but i think the clear protects the decals over time.
  10. thanks guys for all kind words and positive feedback. it was a fun project but looking forward to starting new projects .
  11. thanks Rex ,not sure what is going on there with vrm decals . last i heard was they might be ready for NNL East. but the event never happened
  12. ok cobraman , you might like this one. a group shot of a 3 year cobra project. 6 grand sport corvettes are next.
  13. this is csx 3019 raced by Edward Freutel and co driver Tony Settember. a rare dry sump car with oil filler on right fender. raced with a couple different numbers and 178 was at Targa Floria.
  14. this is csx 3009 better known as the Essex wire cobra #91 was sold to and raced by Ed Lowther. sponser was changed to Eger Ford and Lowther won the A/P national championship in 1966 and almost again in 1967.
  15. thank for all the positive replies and a great picture Rex' Bill
  16. this is csx 3176 raced at Sebring 1966 by John Bentley. it is thought to have been the only 427 street car to race relatively stock with rear exit exhaust and sun burst wheels. one of the biggest challenge was to come up with sunburst wheels. after a couple years of looking i finally got lucky and meet Mike from 3dscaleparts and had them made. i filled in holes where side exhaust would exit, made a roll bar and rear exit exhaust. Bill
  17. with needed parts and decals i can now finish my cobra project (older thread shelby team 427 cobra's) and move on to my 6 grand sport corvettes
  18. thanks Josh, yes monogram/revell kit with modifications
  19. yes VRM decals. last i heard, they were to be ready for NNL east. but that was cancelled due to covid-19. i don't know much more. i do know i still have 3 Cobra's to finish and they are close to done. here is a cool set of decals from slotracing-werk Germany. took forever to get.
