Hello Group, back at the hobby table. so you can't finish one project before you start another. My 427 cobra's are close to completion and need bodies painted. Starting this 1/8 gt40 motor . Prototype was done by Mad Mike and sold by Fein-Design -Modell. I think 50 were made. Quality is top notch and fit of the parts is perfect. each part take all bolts and washers like the real motor , so about 20 parts just for the water pump. Hope to see more available 1/8 motor kits by Mad Mike. Cold and rain is keeping me from painting, but will post progress soon.

Lola looks insane Mark. any chance of having a set of aluminum rims and inserts made for consumer. i have 3 of these kits i would like to build now that i have some inspiration. Bill

wow, last update was about a year ago. have been working on my 1/1 scale project and took a break to hopefully finish my 427 Cobra's. Sanded off all emblems to use photo etched emblems or decals, cut out side louvers for photo etched part, seat belts done,roll bar extended into interior and holes drilled for roll bar.

i built these 2 many years ago and i didn't paint interior correct color. looking to build 2 more, any suggestion on a good color match? from recent pictures , it looks like carpet is dark blue and the rest is a lighter flat blue close to looking like cobra viking blue with no metallic.

I have not yet tried the Zero Paint clear and Cobra Guardsman Blue that i have purchased. How does Gravity Paint compare to Zero Paint ? quality of finished product. i do like the use of finer based metallics for a more realistic look. Has anyone tried both? Bill (back on the cobra projects)

Rick, thanks for pointing this out. i have some of the gauge faces from best models and didn't use because it was hard to cut out gauge exact (not a pre-cut decal) will try to fix on future builds. Bill

Pat , looking good so far. wire wheels were more common on 289 cobra's. the 427 cobra's were shipped with wire wheels put on backward with a 3 -eared knock off to clear big brakes. then 7.5 halibrands were installed when delivered. but what the hell ,it's just a model. put what you like on it. let's see some more!

will test on junk wheels, wheels should have little shine.

thanks Richard, a few updates. added supports tubes under dash and now have correct carbs installed. all radiators done. a little carbon build-up on carb or dirt since they didn't race with air cleaner and tried to replicate fuel filter

thanks Steve, i picked some alcad II gloss black base , polished aluminum and airframe aluminum to try out . will try to get some results posted. going for the dirty side of polished aluminum since rims are for a 60's race car.

looking for best method to replicate polished aluminum on wheel rims. Has anyone tried C1-metalizer? thanks, Bill

Cobra and truck look great, i really like how the rear flares turned out on Cobra.

maybe just lucky, but i ordered from them about a year ago and had no problem.

they look great, now a 65 and 69 for book ends

I have not seen a dyno result for the Bullit Mustang, but the new 2018 gt 5.0 with auto is no joke . Putting out 437 hp at the rear wheels. (due to auto losing less power) Now , about test driving a new Mustang.......I worked at a Ford dealer body shop and had to fix a 2016 Shelby gt350. Of course i had to test drive after repairs were done. Big mistake! Could not stop thinking about how insane this car was. The next year i had to buy one. 2017 #0211 lightning blue 526 hp at crank and 8200 redline or shift point.
