nice work and great color combination.

just a few pictures from cobra museum (cobraexperience.org) Martinez California. got a kick out of the piston display.

great job!! nice detail work.

sounds like the paint blushed from being too cold . most paint works best at high temperature. i use a heat lamp in the winter time. i don't think clearing over it will help or turn out well. i would try to lightly sand it when fully dry . then try to re-coat when temp is good.

will post some progress pics when i start. going to finish up some monogram cobra's first. the Model Factory Hiro kits are not cheap but worth it for quality and detail. i am not wealthy by any means. just slightly crazy about Shelby American Cars. and just plain crazy

When/What do you clear coat?
65slotcar replied to Eloveless's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i would only clearcoat the body. i use rattle cans to paint chassis, interior and others parts and use an airbrush on body for a better smooth finish. clear coat may not always be lacquer. stick with one brand for primer, base coat and clearcoat and you should have good luck. i like zero paint. they have a special primer for plastic, metal and resin cast. they have great base coat colors that match original colors like sunoco blue and sunoco yellow for stripes. clear coat is designed to work on all of there paint products . just mist coat over decals for the first coats. hope this helps out. -
these little gems arrived in the mail today. . i will be warming up by building some monogram 427 cobra's before i even think about starting on these kits.

Where do you get supplies?
65slotcar replied to Eloveless's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
most supplies bought at local hobby shop. but a great paint system primer ,basecoat and clearcoat is from zero paint and can only be purchased at hobbyworld-usa.com in the us. -
great details and nice work !

looking good with the gold wheels, are you going with decals for this build ?
-
very nice work, that looks like a decal nightmare !

dam, how did you find that! i looked everywhere for a picture. awesome pic! you will need to add the oil fill cap on right fender for this version. Bob Grossman drove this car and like many cobra's they had many different paint jobs and numbers. here is a 1967 picture, i think watkins glen
