ok thank you. i don't believe that GM would leave it like that from the factory. i am going to need to keep researching to see what the correct color would be for that. Edit: turns out it wasnt painted. I found this page on a corvette forum with pictures https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c1-and-c2-corvettes/3992162-factory-preservative-used-on-the-exhaust.html

I am researching for the next model project, a 1965 corvette. i found these pictures on ebay, but i am not sure what color it would be. i am talking about the grey color on the bottom side of the interior floors i prefer to use tamiya spray paint, so if there is one that would be similar to that, it would be greatly appreciated. if not, i will use any brand. Any help would be greatly appreciated

i have bought a 1/35 scale set of dogs from riich. it has a bulldog, which when it is standing next to this one, it looks like a puppy and its father. i bought the revell tractor, i might change it from a stand to a tractor pumpkin ride instead. i am not sure where the dogs would fit into it, but i really like them and want to include it

me too. i actually switched to molotow chrome markers. they are great and wipe off easy with qtip if you make a mistake.

yeah, i agree with you. i also thought it was odd he thought he could sue when he pled guilty to the crime they accused him of

i found very recently that my eyes are getting very bad. i am having trouble focusing on small pieces when trying to glue or paint. unfortunately for me, modeling is my only real hobby, for the last 35+ years. I am not going to stop building, but I also might have to learn to live with models that have mistakes. once covid gets better, i am going to have to visit the eye doctor to see if its just my prescription changed. i have had the same prescription for 10 years, so it might be that. the issue for me, is my eyes cant seem to focus on the small bits and its fuzzy

this is not really a thing that irked me, but something unusual going on at my apartment complex. i live in a really quiet town and i am on a street that gets next to no traffic. anyway, this morning when i was sitting at my desk looking out the window, dreaming of a better life, i see a cop pull up and stop in front of my apartment. a minute later a guy pulls up in a dark unmarked sedan and stops next to the cop, they roll their windows down and talk for a minute, and then the guy makes a u-turn behind the cop. both the cop and the guy get out of the car and walk to a neighbors apartment. the regular guy was wearing normal clothes, like jeans and a t-shirt, not cop-ly looking clothes. anyway, they go to the neighbors door and were there for a couple of minutes or so and then they left. i am very curious as to what is going on, im sure it was nothing because the neighbor wasnt dragged off in cuffs or anything. (im curious because im very nosy) nothing like when i was in my old apartment and i got home to see there was like 5 cop cars and a neighbor was in handcuffs. a couple weeks later i was out washing my car and the guy that was in cuffs came to me and started talking to me that he was arrested for threatening the maintenance guy with a gun because he couldnt or wouldnt fix his dishwasher that day. he said he plead guilty and they took his guns. he said he never threatened the guy, just that he was holding the gun when the guy was there. he said now he was going to sue the landlord for whatever was going to sue them for. i quickly finished washing my car and left. the guy was really weird and creepy.

i am in my mid 40s now. when i first started to build models they were about 8 or 9 dollars if i remember correctly. some were 10 dollars. it seemed that until recently models were about 15 to 20 dollars. i have to say 4 or 5 years ago even. this business of even the junkiest recast be retailed at 30 to 40 dollars is nuts. even on ebay the kits have gone up. previously you could get a common kit for about 15 dollars maybe 20 shipped, and now people want full retail price for opened kits. even 15 years ago, some of the common tamiya kits were 20 dollars and revell and amt were half that. at this point i am only really buying kits that are being made today with the hobby lobby 40% off coupon. very few kits will i pay full retail price ( i say this as i just bought 4 kits at full retail price)

i am looking to build a c1 corvette, and prefer the 56+ body style of the c1 and i found that there are 2 kits that are very intriguing to me, both revell kits. first is the 58 kit. it looks like revell germany is releasing it or has recently. The other is the 62 kit, which looks like a brand new tooling from 2012. My question is, is there one that will build nicer and be better overall experience with fit and finish between the 2? i dont have a real preference between the 2 years as they look quite similar to me. I am primarily looking to build one straight out of the box, no modifications. Here is a little story. When i was young, we went to asbury park in nj for easter. I spent my couple of dollars at the games and for my prize with my tokens i bought a pack of corvette cards. they were just baseball style cards with corvette pictures of every year. that was my very first gateway into cars and my passion for them.

I deleted my post. if its unsafe i dont want to give people any ideas -
the hallmark channel got rid of the matlock reruns. i watched all 3 episodes every day. i was hoping to watch them all at least once. i have seen most already, but its been so long that i dont really remember each episode. the complete series box set is like 100 dollars, which is too much. i guess i will see if one comes up cheaper. they put murder she wrote on in its place. i guess i will give that a try.

i have a large RC collection, between trucks, buggies etc. its borderline obsessive with it at one point. i think i have about 20 different RC cars at this point that i have been collecting over 15 years. many of them are very old now, but i just cant bring myself to get rid of it. even though, with many if i were to break something, it would be next to impossible to find the parts. as far as my collection of rock climbers i have the redcat gen8 axe, the traxxas bronco and the hpi toyota fj cruiser. the hpi and bronco were only bought because i love the trucks in 1:1. i actually only drove the traxxas one time on flat surface. i dont climb with it. the 79 bronco is one of my favorite trucks of all time, and i keep that as a shelf queen. the gen8 kit is probably the one i used the most, but as i mentioned earlier, i havent done any rc in a while. i do have an old tamiya rally car that was a blast to drive, i might want to take that out for a spin, now that im thinking about it.

i love this. it needs to become the standard in kits going forward

hi guys. i kept looking and havent found too much information on the quality of the 1978 corvette indy pace car kit. I have a couple of questions 1. Is it a good kit out of the box. Meaning, it will look and fit nicely without having to add 3rd party bits? 2. Can it be built as a stock 78 corvette? I am not a fan of the side skits, front chin spoiler and rear deck wing. is there holes in the body that i would need to fill if i opted not to install them? 3. Is there a better kit to build that can build a stock version of this car that is easy to find that is better. http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/rvl/rvl67646.htm?source=froogle&gclid=Cj0KCQjwppSEBhCGARIsANIs4p7GdERKDBzDTRyEpV8sxH0R_LTTWRHMWO_PUOApynF-eRKzmkGksYAaAkLsEALw_wcB

oof. i dont know what my deal is. i accidentally removed some paint with glue when gluing some of the bits onto the body. i glue fingerprinted the glass. anyway, i fixed the glass nicely with sanding and polishing it, and i touched up the body that i messed up. the spot isnt perfect, but im not starting over. its weird, you have some kits that go together so easy and some that fight you every step of the way. this is one that i have been fighting with. i will say, i didnt think i would be able to fix the glass. it came out really nice with just sanding the glue out and polishing it on multiple levels
