Shaker cans leaking.

this is probably accurate -
i typically glue pieces together that are meant to be the same color, and paint it as one. if there is a piece that is meant to be different color, like say the exhaust on the chassis, i will paint first, and then glue, but only use a tiny dot of glue. i like the model master glue with the metal tip for that. you can get such a tiny amount. (not the testors branded one. that has a plastic tip, which is not as thin) https://www.amazon.com/Liquid-Cement-Plastics-1-oz/dp/B0006N6ODS if its on the body, like say a side mirror, i will use the clear parts cement. its just white glue https://www.amazon.com/Testor-Model-Master-Cement-Window/dp/B0006NDZDU/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=glue+for+windows+model+master&qid=1610633387&sr=8-1 it washes off with water so if i make a mistake, it doesnt ruin the paint. however, you essentially cant touch that piece after. many times i will use the white glue to get it in place. when it dries, i will use the model master in a place not easily seen to make it more secure. i have recently started using the tamiya thin cement, but i havent used it with pieces that are painted yet. that stuff seems to work good though, but does get rid of the paint it seems. its very thin, so i have to be very careful with how much i use. it seems to get everywhere if im not careful. no using it when im tired. i have messed up 2 models that way one thing i have done, if i do mess up paint from spray cans. i will just spray some in a cup (not plastic cup) and use a brush to touch up. its never perfect, but usually quite hard to see if you build up the paint again slowly. a little at a time in layers

does anyone make a good 77 / 78 ford f150 styleside
youpey replied to youpey's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thank you. I have wasted money on kits before and i have been trying to get better with finding newer releases since i dont collect models for value, just to build the subject. I couldn't find any revell snap kits or monogram of the f150 besides this one and scalemates had it listed with the revell bronco kit I had bought the older f150 kit from monogram molded in red, i think it was from early 80s and it was horrible. It wasnt the styleside, but similar to the one above. Flairside. With usps as slow as its been maybe i will get it by Easter The good news though, i got it with make offer, so i didn't pay full price. I paid 10 more than i said was my max but i didn't want 10 dollars to be the breaking point since the seller declined my max offer. I guess my max offer wasn't my max since i went higher. I was prepared to walk away after the higher offer was sent Im nearly done with my farm model and want to jump into the next Thanks again -

I guess I wasted some money. I was assuming since it was a snap kit there would be some detail loss, but at this point i dont have any built kits of the subject. I didn't know that ranger was the f150 ranger. Its too late now. -

Interesting. I always thought it was meant to refect an 1980s (83 to 86 or so) ford ranger. not an f150 ranger. Hopefully they are different enough That one looks a lot like my friends old 85 ranger -

i have the firestone version. its honestly, pretty lousy. https://www.amazon.com/ERTL-Firestone-Pickup-Scale-Model/dp/B00GA3KMEA/ref=sr_1_1?crid=121W02NSN50QG&dchild=1&keywords=amt+firestone+ford&qid=1610499736&sprefix=amt+firest%2Caps%2C162&sr=8-1 I found this kit today. its not the exact one i want, but i hope its decent quality. hopefully there are no major issues since the kit is sealed. i have had too many times the tires melting the plastic in these older kits https://www.ebay.com/itm/1981-Revell-Night-Rider-Ford-Flareside-4x4-1-25-Snap-Kit-RARE-SEALED-NEW/373393064257?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 -

Thank you. i couldnt find one at all. unfortunately, i am finding too much wrong with my kit to bother. for example, the bottom of the body has like a curve to it. its not warped, but mold defect. its only on 1 side. the bed was really hard to get square and overall, its not worth the effort to me. i will have to find another subject. i just love the grill of it. maybe i will do the 80 bronco, its pretty close to the same grill, just not rounded like the 77/78 is -
Ordered the dio stuff. Got the chevy for the decals and a some pumpkins in. The grass, and other stuff is arriving. Thanks again to everyone
-
thank you so much and to everyone here also. it will be so much easier to use these over designing and printing my own. I am going to order this up right away. by the way, where did you get the apples and pumpkin and other stuff in the back of the truck? Did you make that from scratch. After seeing that i was thinking of adding an old broken down fruit stand

Is thst from the revell 66 chevy pickup? That would be perfect. It has a logo and isnt white. Is the right model https://www.amazon.com/Revell-Chevy-Fleetside-Pickup-Model/dp/B01BLBHU8G/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=revell+66+chevy+fleetside+pickup+model+kit&qid=1610123445&sprefix=revell+66+ch&sr=8-1

This is awesome. i love economy cars for some reason. Years ago i bought myself a new ford fiesta. It was good except i was too big for it and cramped and i traded it in 2 years later for a Beatle. The beatle was almost the same price, but had much better performance and more room. Much worse mpg though

I bought that kit, opened it, put everything back in the box and eventually tossed it. And I keep everything, broken kits, missing parts. This one, tossed There is an old revell, 1/12 of 65 fastback and one for the gt350. They are pretty expensive, but i think they are tge way to go for a big mustang. I got the shelby one a few years ago for about 100 or so. It had one small part of the body that was broken but i fixed it and it looks good

i really appreciate the offer. unfortunately the truck is going to be painted white. I might have to print something myself. I dont see one from gofer racing that i could find on ebay or a couple of online shops. the one from the 66 chevy is probably the closest, but i think i would prefer one to have some kind of cheesy logo on it too. I will keep looking before i print something. Thank you

I am building a 1950 chevy pickup that i want to put in a diarama. The plan was to make it a farm truck on a pumpkin patch with some pumkins in the back of the truck. What i am looking for is decals for a farm truck. Something that says some kind of name and then farms on it. I looked through all my stash and i cant find anything. Does anyone know of a kit that has a decal with farms on it?

Honestly, this is me. I have filled my model closet and i moved into another room to stack. Granted my model closet is not huge, if i were to stack all of my models on a table, this would be how it would look. I dont think i could finish every model i have if i started building each one and didn't have breaks in between. Plus i dont toss incomplete kits in case i need a part later on

when buying on ebay, i noticed that when i pay with paypal, it takes a bit and says payment to ebay. after a little bit, it shows as paid. it used to be instant, but now its delayed, sometimes by as much as an hour

New magazine from Kalmbach
youpey replied to Mike 1017's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I ordered the book. It was 11 dollars shipped. I wasted more on dinner last night because i was too tired to cook. If i learn even 1 new skill or trick, it will be worth it to me. I don't buy magazine anymore because I found i rarely looked at it but a book with 100 articles could be interesting . Even if they are older stuff, since i probably wouldn't have seen it before anyway. Im not surprised they canceled the magazine.i think the hobby is dying, most stores dont even sell models anymore. I tried to get my nephews interested and they just want to play video games. I built models as a kid and its the one hobby i have stuck with over the years, with some breaks of course This is my only hobby, i dont mind spending money on it to support a company
