  1. Put the hood pads on tonight so I can put the bolts in place and start putting the hinges on. This part here is how small the hood hinge tabe that bolts on to the hood. And every thing has to fit in this little hole, When it is done i'm not sure if it will be a full working part or in the up right spot so you can see the detail or not. The hood will not be on the parts but will have every thing in place to be bolted on if I elect to.
  2. The three biggest awards other then making the magazines for me that had a special feeling is the Ricky Couch memorial award at the GSL, The Goodguys Model D'elegance award at GSL and the Peoples Choice award at the Goodguy Nationals in Ohio. But the Ricky Couch award is by far will be the tops over every thing as it just makes you think of the people in this hobbie he help'ed and if he would have like what I built and put it in his level.
  3. To answer it, yes as 2 part Clears can go over any thing!
  4. Getting the hood parts made tonight for the hood hings. The hood will be display'ed with out the hood on but will have full detail to where it can be bolted up at any time. This is the inner fender boss that will hold the hood hings in place.
  5. Not for modeling I do not wear a mask. Controal the air at less then 12psi coming out of the airbrush and if you have good paintbooth that is vented right you will never smell it at all. It's not like shooting a real car or the size of a hood or door! The thing to be more carefull about is not getting any on your skin then any thing.
  6. I do the close to the same as Cad does, But I buy mine in quart size and this last up to a year or better ( I change mine out at the year date no matter what) This is to keep it fresh and I normaly have about 16oz or so left. For keeping the Catl fresh not sure how they package there stuff but the new one from DuPont has a two style cap that does not let the air build up get in side to ruin it. I use Dupont 7900 with the 4600 activator and both together cost $79, Or you can stay with the 7900 with the 7900 Act for $108 or go cheeper and have the 4600 nason all for $36 and that is a Quart size of each.
  7. You can how ever use the Hobby Lobby one at Micheals and get the sale item with the coupon. The one here lets you use both if it says 25% off of all sales and a 40% off of the item so you do get 65% off. But that is just at Micheals using both coupons from both stores.
  8. getting the dash work done last night!
  9. Why not, I will play along! 1. What is a model kit? Building a scale replica of your choice either in kit fourm from the store or building it your self. 2. What activities (e.g. painting, sanding, burnishing) do you associate with modelling? Sanding, Painting, Resin casting, Mold making, Research work, Talking to the real people who built the real car. 3. Do you follow instructions when building a model? No! I do research and go by photos and the real car to build from. 4. How skilled are you at modelling? Only been building since 2003 and feel i'm ok at what I do and always learning diffrent things and how to do stuff from the great people here in the modeling world. 5. What are kit conversions? Have you ever done a kit conversion? Resin cast kits to change things from what the kit companys have to offer over to make a new kit. I have started with a kit and only use what little I needed from this to help a resin kit to build what I was building. 6. What is kitbashing? Have you ever kitbashed? Taking more then 2 diffrent kits and building a car or subject with many diffrent kits. Yes I use a lot of diffrent kits parts and such in the past to build with. 7. What is the object of model-making? What is the end product? I build models for people and to also help show people that are in the modeling world that you can build or change the stuff that the kit mfg offer to build todays style of cars. For the ending product?
  10. Found it on ebay, It was the only 2nd one I seen and the first sold for 160 and I got this one for 140.
  11. Did the window crank arms today and will do the nobs tomorrow. The front one has also the center cut out of them. This is showing that the crank arms are off the door padding.
  12. @ Chevy2Much You ever think of not starting with 800 grit sand paper? That could be your reason as it does not need to be sanded down with that. 1500 to start will do just good and if you need a little more extra add water and this helps also.
  13. Pic 1 Rear window crank machine and press fitted in place. The rear's are diffrent then the front ones Pic 2 Showing the front window crank part, Also you can see the secound leather strap on the door just under it. Pic 3 Showing the back side where the rear window crank was press fitted in so it will hold right.
  14. Here is the car i'm working on now that has a 4 linke in it.
  15. Putting the door strap in. Real rubber and bolted in place
  16. Pic 1 Seat belts and seats are now in. So is the rollcage connected to the floor mounts and the betls are connected to the rear grab bar. Pic 2 Here is the back showing the belts are hooked up to the grab bar. Pic 3 and 4 together. This photo here shows the floor detail the padding under the center consel and also the padding up by the feet area. The pic after will show the real car. There is the tan padding.
  17. I will find the pics of both 'Chromzilla" 4 link style compare to the one i'm working on now in "Runt" both are little diffrent in how they are built.
  18. What kind of tape did you use? It more looks like your white was not dry enuff before you put the tape on.
  19. Belts are now done and have to connect them to the roll bar.
  20. Nice detail added to this kit! Never had one but looks like your adding a lot of good stuff to a kit that didn't have a lot to offer to start with.
  21. Outside shots of Runt.
  22. Getting the 5 way harness built today!
  23. All the interior gauges, hubs and pullys on all my custom models i do my own self. Also the little air breathers and stuff like that. Just got the mill up and running to do more indepth parts as rims, and changing the blocks and heads to the right size to make ls7 and ls9 motors and then putting them into resin as I will use that as the casting parts. I have done my own rims before and I know Bob Dudek on here also does a lot of aluminum parts for his builds and other people
