  1. Picked up two new motors for this car this morning. Pic was from racing last year at Indy Raceway Park for the Top Speed Modified tour.
  2. MIke there is no 3d printing done for the chassis for body.
  3. You can get the vinyl up to .0015 thickness at a good cost. But if you really wanted to try it on a model the cost for some thing that may work runs into about $700 a roll and that is .0005 thickness and is like seranwrap but it's vinyl
  4. very nice start!
  5. Could not sleep so I work some more on the rearend. Now that I have the 5 angle section done all I need to do is the detail to the front then I can resin cast it
  6. Did more work on the frame, Put in the brass part to support the lower 4link control arm. Move the rear part of the tunnel down so every thing will clear and put in rear control arm connecter on the frame. Also started doing the rear end so that can go into resin.
  7. Bill, when you put the rear end in like this how did you come up with the location for the shock mounts to make sure if they are in the right spot with out the mounts on the frame? Why i'm asking is to see if there is an easy'er way of doing it compare to what I been doing on the frame first and then to the rear end.
  8. Here is some little work that has to be done before any thing else on the chassis. The upper frame has a part taken out and then drilled for the shock mount and put back in. The other parts are showing stuff you will not see but has to be done to hold the 4 link arms in place to the frame. Inside the car the interior will cover all this up.
  9. Had to take that section out so I can remake it all with new vents.
  10. Wish I could done this more in brass but was not sure how it would have looked being epoxy in place then having the .020 sheet plastic insted. This was a lot easy'er and more smoother when I got done with it. did the floor pans to fit the exhaust tubes and mufflers in place.
  11. Sorry to hear that Tom we will miss you for sure! Tom Nungester and I are planning on coming to the NNL East in 2014 for are long trip and then heading to the Heart Land show next ear also.
  12. Thank you, @ Rod yes I will be out there and would not missed it for nothing!
  13. Bill, I love this as it's in brass! I wish I could make my stuff from brass like that as i'm still doing all of it in plastic sheets.
  14. And if you do not think I do graphics here is one also. No decal on nothing there.
  15. Option is about all it is! Ummm never had any thing lift and I use all Du Pont paint products
  16. Wet sanding between each coat of primer from 3200 to 12000 and then each coat of color and also each coat of clear. The better the body is like glass and smooth the better the paint job will be. Remember you are not driving this thing and the weather is not going to get to it like a real car so you can make it smooth as glass and still paint it and the paint and clear will hold.
  17. "Brute Force" getting the front end to set low enough will be the hard part. First took out the inner fenders as you see and will have to relocate them up higher and wider for the front wheels!. Also you can see the ride is now level with the tire size as the rear will be a little higher then the front.
  18. I have 7 4x12 foot tables with two normal size desk in my work area of 1/3 of the basement. I will be also moving in some more stuff and taking up another 1/3 with couple of machines and about 8 more 4x12 tables by June.
  19. This has been a great learning build as I never have done a full 90%+ scratch built car before, as you can see the last few details was added as there is only a couple things left but after 9 month of about 4 to 6 days a week on this thing it's coming to an end. The plates I made and also machine up the fuel psi gauge, wire up to the fuel body and put the valve stems in place. Thank every one that has helped along the way and also have enjoy watching this build.
  20. Want to thank Mark D Jones for talking to me off list and helping me with a lot. I did take this photo and sent it to Curtis Ukasik and Gerry (the owner) with all the pics that they have of this car being built up (more then i have show'n here) they said the same thing that Mark told me and that was to just let it go as this far into it, I would take a big chance of ruin the project. You learn and Gerry was so understanding that she side from all the pics that she would have never even know'n with out me pointing it out. This is why this hobbie is so great and filled with good friends that you can talk to and see what your options are to save some thing.
  21. What blue are you starting with? if it's a normal blue then the answer is no. They have to be mixed and can not be put over each other to get the same effect as if you did red over yellow to change the hue # if that is what you are asking.
