  1. Agreed. Especially Raboesch's Super Styrene rod. It used to be marketed in the U.S., by Midwest Products, but, last time I bought it, I got it on Ebay from a place in the U.K.
  2. Thanks, Charley! I like those subtle tones, as, like you said, they add a sense of realism.
  3. Thanks, Snake. I see you got the Riviera done, too. Excellent! Thanks for these BOYD deals. It inspired me to put in about six months of the most intense effort I've ever put in, on a model, and I looked forward to it, every day. I had a lot of fun!
  4. I've been thrashing all night, and, until now. I gotta get some sleep, but, I am calling this DONE!
  5. Thank you, Snake! That's what I'd hoped to accomplish. That is much appreciated.
  6. You might listen to this guy! He's given me some pretty dadgum good advice, before!
  7. And, those are done! They aren't perfect, but, they are better than any Enderle stacks I have ever seen. Looking at the photos, it looks like I could have sanded he tops down a tad more. Already got the cowl smoothed and ready for the windscreen, so, that's next...
  8. Maybe a cheap pair of sunglasses? Maybe some of those large-lensed novelty pairs could provide enough surface area? Just a shot in the dark.
  9. I'ma gonna! Thank you, sir! I shall, indeed!
  10. I have three of the four pairs of stacks mounted. That leaves one of those, and some smoothing of the cowl, attachment of the windscreen and decals. I may get a little bit done, before work, tonight. Either way, it's going to be a busy weekend, but, I think I can get this baby DONE!
  11. Same here! Usually steel or aluminum over brass.
  12. Thank you, Mike. I like to use metal , in some applications, because, well, I don't have to paint it!
  13. I did, indeed! The 50W hookup worked marvelously. Thank you, Mike. Happy you're enjoying it!
  14. Well, the entire fuel system is finished. The headers are built, and only need a clean up and paint, to be finished. I have the decals printed. Gotta' keep pushin' on...
  15. Their stuff is nice, too. I bought the wheels for my Monza from them.
  16. I'll be getting these soldered up, later! I have almost everything done, on the chassis and engine. Injector stacks and bodywork, are just about all that's left.
  17. That is absolutely correct, as well! I seem to recall a time that a rider had "lost", because he was still pulling, carrying the front wheel across the beam, and didn't get recorded, until the rear wheel broke the beam.
  18. I picked up an unbuilt Johan Pinto FC a few weeks back. With shipping I paid $45. If I have available funds, I'll pick up just about any Johan kit I can get, for under $50, but, you are correct, sir--those babies are getting more and more rare.
  19. Cool model! Looks like it belongs in Montana. Bicentennial plates, too--I love those old plates. Missoula?
  20. I usually by the Loctite stuff at Walmart. I'm not averse to using the cheap stuff from there, either. Somebody mentioned theirs being too runny to use--get some old plastic lids (like on a coffee can, or a Pringles can), and apply a few drops to its surface, then apply that to the model. I use a straight pin with the head removed, then glued into a small wooden dowel. I would HIGHLY recommend against EVER applying super glue straight to the model, from the bottle/tube.
  21. I use a pair of these. They work well. That said, one of these days, I'll likely pick up one of the specific tools for PE bending.
  22. Fuel system is all but finished! Headers, stacks and plug wires are the last three major assemblies. I have one header flange almost finished. The pipes are bent, with pins inserted. I have to finish the right side return line (which includes drilling the tank--oops!), and get it zip-tied to the chassis. I want to make 90-degree boots for the plug ends. I've done it, before. It's a pain, but, I want them! Anyway, here are a few photos of the fuel system--still a few loose ends to tie up, and some touch up, to do...
