  1. Great custom job. Still have my son's Zoid Brutox build from the 80's.
  2. Just finished a quick build of the Atlantis Midget Racer. Relocated the tie rod (it was molded pointing down?), added a radiator, air cleaners, firewall and a seat (left off the driver). Also swapped out the rear wheels and tires for a wider set. Body in the molded plastic color with a coat of Future. A fun build.
  3. I like the changes you have done. Have a similar Laguna project (Cale Yarborough '76 Chevelle) I am working on. One other change I added was the coil springs (instead of leaf springs) trailing arms rear axle setup I stole from a later AMT GM NASCAR kit. Will be following.
  4. PM sent.
  5. In the 70's series and the Southern Stocker series the wheels, tires and chassis (rear steer coil springs front, leaf spring rear) were incorrectly the same for all kits. The only difference in their kits was the engine heads and valve covers (Chrysler, Ford or GM). I have built many. Will look thru my MPC NASCAR parts box and see what I have.
  6. Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your offer, but I have boxes of parts, bodies, tires, wheels and engines also. More interested in buildable complete kits.
  7. Bump! Well, I now have the kits I was looking for in trade, so am open to any kits you might have that might interest me. Let me know what you have to trade. MM
  8. Have you given them a coat of Future polish?
  9. Love your progress. Got a similar Grumpy project going myself, have a '68 Camaro, a '74 Vega, a '76 Monza, an '81 Camaro and an '83 Camaro, all Grumpy's Toys in varying stages of completion.
  10. I suggested in the forum when Round 2 announced the rerelease of this kit, delete the hood scoop and correct the decals. Decals would have been simple to correct.
  11. Good looking build. When Montgomery was designing this car MPC made a deal with him to build a model kit and they would pay for the real car. Ohio George made some changes after MPC had already finished the kit. Bob Crozier's build made all the corrections.
  12. Agree, very nice build. On the one I built, I left off the headlights and taillights and added a roll bar (it's a dragster, man), But I did add the taillights bar to my Munster coach, felt they looked better there.
  13. I still have some of my Auto World catalogs from the 60's. Used my 9th grade biology kit (scalpel, tweezers, stick needles) for my modeling tools. Had to save my 50 cents weekly allowance for a month to afford to order a kit from the catalog.
  14. Thanks for the comments, guys. It was a fun build.
  15. Well, i have been working on this replica on and off for seven years. Finally got her done. Have a WIP thread on it. Mostly OOB except for engine, wheels, windscreen, headrest with fin (scratch built) and cockpit cover. Let me know what you think.
  16. Calling it done. Moved to Under Glass.
  17. Got the interior done. Need a good Satin black paint for the chassis and undercarriage, Rust-oleum seems to take forever to dry to the touch. Any suggestions?
  18. Charger kit and decals are still here! Gerald
  19. Long shot, I know. Just need one rear landing gear leg (or all three) from an MPC Star Wars A-Wing fighter for a project. Have much to trade. Please advise.
  20. Am looking for a complete (AMT or MPC) 1:25 Pontiac OHC straight 6 engine for a project. Have much for trade. Please advise.
  21. '53-'54 Corvette Mule. Started 7 years ago, going to give it a go again
  22. Well, I pulled this project down from the shelf of doom, again. Going to give it another go.
  23. And a Happy Thanksgiving to you.
  24. Thanks. I dropped a "Miss Deal" Studebaker kit Chrysler Hemi in mine.
  25. Bob, this is a nice kit. I will be following. One thing I did on mine was swap the pickup bed with the more stock looking one from the AMT Willys PU. Just a thought.
