Bob, this is a nice kit. I will be following. One thing I did on mine was swap the pickup bed with the more stock looking one from the AMT Willys PU. Just a thought. -
Model factory hiro Porsche 935/78

Also, glad to see you're on this one again. Incredible work. Thought I would show a pic of my Nitto 1/28 Porsche 935/78 (built 40 years ago) to show the opposite of your well detailed kit. I think it cost $3.00 then. An okay three footer. Will be following your build. -

Carl, 1/24th scale? Have 10 halves (5 barrels when assembled) from the Monogram Beer wagon. PM me your address if these are what you need.

Well, I pulled it out. Was surprised how far along I was. Just need paint on the body. Really liking your metallic orange, will probably go with that. Will post a pic on WIP mockup. Thanks for the inspiration.

Outstanding build. Got one on my shelf of doom. Been trying to replicate this one I found on the net.

Had a WIP going on this build three years ago but lost interest. Pulled it off the shelf of Doom and decided to give it another go. Was surprised how close I was to finish. I had already taken the body from an AMT Super Spy car and reworked it to fit an AMT Piranha "roadster" funny car lower section that I had previously built. Had cut out the interior, cut out an opening for the blower, cut openings for the exhaust pipes and for the slicks three years ago. I now have sanded down the windshield and side windows to flush fit the body. I got it painted Testors rattlecan lacquer gold with clear gloss lacquer overcoat. Decaled and white glued in the windows. Three years and done. It's a different take of an old model. Let me know what you think.

Had sanded the windows to flush fit. Got it painted and decaled. Got the windows white glued in. Well, I'm calling it done. Moved to under glass Drag racing.

Thank you,Sir. Has it really been three years? Thank you, Sir.

Almost ready for the paint shop. Front windshield flush. Not sure about side windows yet (glued inside, sand them flush or leave off).

Well, this project has been on the "shelf of doom" for over three years. Had finished the Piranha funny car but never got back to the coupe body. Decided to pull it out and give it a go again.

MPC Californian Toronado with some changes

Thank you, Sir. That was a lot of work. Thank you, Sir. Been thinking about the changes for a while. -
Here's a kit that I have been wanting to make some changes to. Didn't care for the front "beak" so I dechromed it, cut off the headlights and sanded the beak down flatter. The red roof gills needed to be covered up. Glued them in and filled with putty and sanded and puttied and sanded. Cut out some side opera windows. Cut out the rear panel, added a fill in piece and used the "stock" taillight that was included on the chrome tree, had to shorten it to fit. Added some leaf springs to the rear axle. Wire wheels are from the spare parts box. Paint is Testors rattlecan Gold Extreme Lacquer, with fabric tan interior. Let me know what you think about the changes, good or bad.

Here's where I'm at on my attempt. Removed the headlights and sanded the beak grill down a bunch. Went with the opera windows (two instead of three), man that was a lot of putty and sanding. Cut out and filled in the rear panel. Like the stock taillight that was on the chrome tree. but I need to shorten it. Any suggestions?
