  1. Richard, have you tried reworking an AMT Amtronic? There's several on Ebay.
  2. Don't forget a rear exhaust dump pipe too. Good looking Chris Craft Runabout.
  3. My wife's hobby is sewing and so I take her there a lot. They now have a section of model kits. They must have a deal with Atlantis only, but they had a good selection of planes, boats, and some car kits. Wife says they have a 40% to 50% off coupon for 1 item on their website daily. Check it out
  4. Here's my attempt at a Wonder Wagon Vega panel funny Car. Started with the body from The AMT 1976 Vega panel funny car (going for a '74 model verses a '72). Got some Vega side panel parts (thanks to Rocking Rodney Rat) and stretched the body 1/2 inch. Then stretched the wheelbase another 3/8th inch. A whole lot of putty and sanding. Engine, tires, chassis and interior tin are from an MPC Soapy Sales Challenger kit. Decals are on the way.
  5. Got this buildup of a Tommy Ivo 4 engine showboat dragster. On trying to disassemble it I was only able to save two of the 4 engines, so I decided to go with his two engine dragster that came before the Showboat. Still rough in spots but I think Snake45 would have approved. Let me know what you think.
  6. Good start. I built one years ago. Here are some pics of the real one I used as a reference.
  7. Old Revell Chopped Deuce Tudor finally done, OOB.
  8. Well, here's a kit I've had in my stash for over 40 years. It's been on the workbench, started and put back up many times. It was listed as one of the most difficult kits in the forum and I must agree. It was frustrating, had very poor fit, most parts did not want to stay glued. I did an engine swap which made it more difficult. OOB mostly (I did add headlights and taillights from the parts box) and I must say I will not do another. I don't remember my Revell Orange Crate build as being this frustrating. I'm glad to be done with it.
  9. Well, thanks a lot. Because of you and Force, I drug out my Revell Chopped Deuce that I've had in my stash for over 40 years and give it another try. Man, this thing is frustrating. I did an engine swap with my leftovers from a Tweety Pie kit and it makes it even more difficult. I'm about "done" with chassis and interior but I can't get the steering column to stay glued when I try to put the interior on the chassis and the instructions are no help. I'm close to the end one way or another. There is a reason it's been out and put back several times over the past 40 years. Thanks again, guys.
  10. Yep, had a set of them on my '73 240Z.
  11. I use my tweezers from Hell! They have a deal with the carpet monster and can launch a small part so it can never be found. I keep believing it won't this time but it does.
  12. You have a lot of work ahead of you. AMT's attempt at NASCAR stockers in those days was poor. Here's a pic of their 1/25th curbside 1983 Earnhardt Thunderbird stock car one piece chassis. LOL. The 1.25th body is fair but the glass was a joke and the interior was toyish. I kept the 1/25th body, wheels and tires, the rest went in the trash.
  13. Don't have any, but have you tried Monogram's 1/24 Trantula or Bad Medicine dragsters ? They look thicker than the 1/25 Revell dragster ones'
  14. I like it. Better detail on the side windows than I did.
  15. One I'm trying to replicate.
  16. Great job on this. I have an AMT Outcast kit I was going to convert to a Fire Truck.
  17. Thanks guys. It took a lot of patience to work those decals (and Future acrylic floor polish). Happy to have it finished.
  18. Yep, I'll just keep my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 ranch truck until it can't be fixed any more. Bought it used in 2002 for $5000. Just turned 82000 miles. No interest in a new one.
  19. All I'm saying is: If they would correct it, I think a lot of us would buy another. I already have an original unbuilt and a built one in my collection.
  20. All I'm saying is, they corrected the front end on the Ohio George '67 Malco Mustang gasser (original kit had an incorrect '65 front end on a '67 Mustang body, they put a proper '67 front end on the latest release), why not correct this kit. They should have the Jolly Roger Maverick funny car body mold somewhere, use that body. Decals should be a simple fix. they change them on most rereleases.
  21. MPC should use the body from their Jolly Roger Maverick funny car. It's the same body (I have both) from the MultiMaverick kit without the long hood scoop.
  22. Wish they would have deleted that hideous long hood scoop and corrected the decals.
  23. Here ya go. I believe it was called a transverse torsion bar system. Top pic from the H.A.M.B. article. Bottom pic from TBucketPlans.com.
  24. My JoHan S & M version in my stash is molded in a hideous green.
