  1. I suggested in the forum when Round 2 announced the rerelease of this kit, delete the hood scoop and correct the decals. Decals would have been simple to correct.
  2. Good looking build. When Montgomery was designing this car MPC made a deal with him to build a model kit and they would pay for the real car. Ohio George made some changes after MPC had already finished the kit. Bob Crozier's build made all the corrections.
  3. Agree, very nice build. On the one I built, I left off the headlights and taillights and added a roll bar (it's a dragster, man), But I did add the taillights bar to my Munster coach, felt they looked better there.
  4. I still have some of my Auto World catalogs from the 60's. Used my 9th grade biology kit (scalpel, tweezers, stick needles) for my modeling tools. Had to save my 50 cents weekly allowance for a month to afford to order a kit from the catalog.
  5. Thanks for the comments, guys. It was a fun build.
  6. Well, i have been working on this replica on and off for seven years. Finally got her done. Have a WIP thread on it. Mostly OOB except for engine, wheels, windscreen, headrest with fin (scratch built) and cockpit cover. Let me know what you think.
  7. Calling it done. Moved to Under Glass.
  8. Got the interior done. Need a good Satin black paint for the chassis and undercarriage, Rust-oleum seems to take forever to dry to the touch. Any suggestions?
  9. Charger kit and decals are still here! Gerald
  10. Long shot, I know. Just need one rear landing gear leg (or all three) from an MPC Star Wars A-Wing fighter for a project. Have much to trade. Please advise.
  11. Am looking for a complete (AMT or MPC) 1:25 Pontiac OHC straight 6 engine for a project. Have much for trade. Please advise.
  12. '53-'54 Corvette Mule. Started 7 years ago, going to give it a go again
  13. Well, I pulled this project down from the shelf of doom, again. Going to give it another go.
  14. And a Happy Thanksgiving to you.
  15. Thanks. I dropped a "Miss Deal" Studebaker kit Chrysler Hemi in mine.
  16. Bob, this is a nice kit. I will be following. One thing I did on mine was swap the pickup bed with the more stock looking one from the AMT Willys PU. Just a thought.
  17. Also, glad to see you're on this one again. Incredible work. Thought I would show a pic of my Nitto 1/28 Porsche 935/78 (built 40 years ago) to show the opposite of your well detailed kit. I think it cost $3.00 then. An okay three footer. Will be following your build.
  18. Kinda like the boat tail Riviera. Or the G2 Sting Ray Vette.
  19. The hood scoop in the Jo-Han '71 Sox & Martin Cuda is close.
  20. My vote is for an AMT 65 Dodge Coronet Hemi Charger. Was my Holy Grail find.
  21. Carl, 1/24th scale? Have 10 halves (5 barrels when assembled) from the Monogram Beer wagon. PM me your address if these are what you need.
  22. 1957 Ford street gasser. Raised, straight front axle, injected, headers and slicks.
  23. Well, I pulled it out. Was surprised how far along I was. Just need paint on the body. Really liking your metallic orange, will probably go with that. Will post a pic on WIP mockup. Thanks for the inspiration.
  24. Outstanding build. Got one on my shelf of doom. Been trying to replicate this one I found on the net.
  25. Had a WIP going on this build three years ago but lost interest. Pulled it off the shelf of Doom and decided to give it another go. Was surprised how close I was to finish. I had already taken the body from an AMT Super Spy car and reworked it to fit an AMT Piranha "roadster" funny car lower section that I had previously built. Had cut out the interior, cut out an opening for the blower, cut openings for the exhaust pipes and for the slicks three years ago. I now have sanded down the windshield and side windows to flush fit the body. I got it painted Testors rattlecan lacquer gold with clear gloss lacquer overcoat. Decaled and white glued in the windows. Three years and done. It's a different take of an old model. Let me know what you think.
