  3. Thanks for the replies , I found some at Gofer Decals Thanks Jon
  4. Would Michaels carry the transfer letters ?
  5. Where can I find some drag class decals ? Need som A/FX. I looked at Slixx and did not see any Thanks
  6. R & M has the streamliner Kart and a Triumph motorcycle
  7. Bearings are sealed, not sure where to get them but they are not cheap
  8. Ibuilt one using a clear plastic bin turned on it's side. Built wooden frame work around the back side and mounted a 4" ventilation fan. Attached a dryer vent hose and run it thru an opening to the outside, I a furnace filter inside the bin and put a light on the top. As an afterthought I should have made the vent opening on the top as it draws all the dust across the painting parts. Still need to use a mask.
  9. That could have been the problem. I cleaned off the old paint and will clean them again with alcohol. Then retry the paint. Will using a dehydrator help or hinder the painting ?
  10. This is my first time dealing with Shapeways parts. Working with a set of dump headers. I primed with white primer and then a coat of flat white (Duplicolor) . The paint seemed to stay soft and rubbed off when handling. I want the flat white header look. Any suggestions on painting 3D printed parts ?
  11. I don't think any of the Createx Clears are very glossy as the name states. Work better for a intercoat clear for masking. I have tried the Spaz Stix clear over Molotow Chrome. I put Molotow Chrome on two steering wheel horn rings and brushed on some Spaz Stix Clear on one. They have been setting for about two or three weeks with no discernible difference. Next time I will try air brushing some on a larger part and do a comparison .
  12. IMHO for a Old School Wedge build, the Cross Ram manifold is what gets my blood flowing. Think hood with open sides and carbs sticking out.
  13. Thanks for the info and suggestions. Not sure which I dislike more, PE or BMF LOL
  14. Just started working with photo etched parts , any good tools out there for bending and cutting ?
  15. I used to buy wired distributors and pulleys from them but they have been out of business for awhile. I see nothing on ebay
  16. I dip mine in the purple pond after removing the metal clips then put it in the shallow end of the pool so nothing gets in the inside. I have only dipped the one with the clips. I will separate the wire stand so when I am painting bodies it will fit in the dehydrator.
  17. I kinda like both, but I agree make "C" the Track T in the background and I vote for "C:
  18. I found a can opener that I can open the bottom of the can with. I hold it down in a bucket in case of a slip up, I then just puncture the can enough to release the pressure. After all the pressure has released I finish opening the bottom then pour out the paint into a jar.(be careful, when the mixer ball rolls out it can make a big splash). The paint will still hold some gas for a couple days so I place a surgical type glove over the jar with a small pin hole in one of the fingertips. This allows gas to escape but doesn't let air back in. Your results may vary.
  19. Over the years I have pulled up many a distributor and rotated the rotor 180 degrees. You can always rotate the engine by hand with the plugs out and feel or test for compression at no 1
  20. Just for my own satisfaction I research every aspect of engine when I build it, down to the correct firing order and #1"s location on the distributor.
  21. This one from a stalled build. Not finished yet. The air cleaner top is just set on it, it is not ready to be installed. Whether I would be called a good builder may be selective opinion.
  22. I have found flat ends on ebay drill bits mostly from china. Thanks for the link mr obsessive now I have someplace else to buy them
  23. I checked out the set in the Revell 41 P/U Gasser kit and they are not what I am looking for. The ones in the picture you posted might be doable . I did find a resin set on ebay but they are very crudely done. Thanks
