  2. Anyone know of a resin 41 Chevy Coupe body out there other than the pro-mod ?
  3. i have been de-canting Dupli-color acrylic enamel to use in a air brush and thinning with lacquer thinner. My goof-ups seem to strip better in brake fluid so they go into the "golden pond".
  4. I am not extremely acknowledged in drag engines but I am assuming the units on the water inlet/outlets are some type of flush connections to introduce cool water after a run. If not please school me on their use. May be something I might want to use on a future build, Thanks
  5. Thanks. I am taping around window and side chrome and the Scotch Fine Line isn't doing well. I had a small amount of the yellow that worked but ran out. When I went internet shopping I saw the white and wondered if it sealed well. Sounds like what I want. Thanks Again Jon
  6. The problem I have with little wooden clothespins is that occasional the snap shut while holding a small part and the part becomes airborne and is usually not found until I have found a replacement for it. Hemostats can mar the parts and need to have something inside the tips to eliminate this.
  7. I can appreciate the work and planning that went into it but not my "cup of tea". Not a good mix of styling ques for me. But nicely done.
  8. Need to order some more tape. Whats the difference in the orange tape and the white tape ? (other than color)
  9. You might look at the cheater slicks here http://www.speedcityresin.com/PartsPageTires.html
  10. The SS factory headers were designed for racing but from what I have found is the SS rules in the 60's allowed for exhaust modifications. Looking at the cars pictured here http://georgeklass.net/super-stock.html it shows a lot of Mopars did not use the factory Max Wedge headers and a lot did use the fender well exit headers. . I think its up to you on which direction you go. It seems the cars running the factory Max Wedge headers also use a specific exhaust system. I am building a factory stock 64 Dodge 330 Max Wedge from a Ramchargers kit. It has headers that run under and exit near the back of the transmission. I found some factory cast headers in another kit and fabricated the exhaust system to match.
  11. Same as
  12. The flakes were so large they would most likely plug my air brush. Alcad is what I am using on the tips and is too cromie for thepipes and mufflers. I will check into the rub-n-buff stuff Thanks
  13. I was using Rust-oleum Metallic aluminum but it had too much metallic then I tried some Rust-oleum High Performance Wheel Steel but it cam out looking like a metal flake silver. (may use this as a body color on a future build). The flat aluminum might be what I need , thanks
  14. Don't give up, I feel your pain. I have 4 64 Mopar bodies that have been in and out of the golden and purple ponds at least 2 times each trying to get the paint right. I finally finished making my scratch built Max Wedge exhaust and on the final paint application it went flakie. I have built at least 3 coils and they still don't look right. And there is a few other problems I am dealing with. I treat each failure as just a stepping stone to a good outcome and definitely learn from each trial and tribulation. Just look at it as a good thing if you can. Everybody goes thru it.
  15. I am looking for some stainless steel colored paint for exhaust systems. I found some Krylon SS paint. The finish very rough and looks like metal flake with large granules of paint' Not what I wanted has anybody else tried this paint ? Thanks
  16. I was hoping to have my Mopar Duo done for the show but that ain't happening either. Just be spending money I dont have and BSing
  17. I feel your pain. I am about to take a body out of the Golden Pond (brake fluid) and put another in. Attempt #5 on a decent black paint job on a 64 Belvedere. Maybe I will see you at Floyd's show next month
  18. To bad, there were some nice decals there

  20. Very nice, Great engine detail also like the under carriage detail including the heat discoloration on the exhaust
  21. Are you looking for these ? I have an original set not sure how usable they are
  22. BB's , put one in the jar when I first open it. As of late I have been de-canting spray cans. I add the mixer ball from the can to the storage jar. (be careful when pouring in smaller bottles. That mixer ball can make a heck of a splash if you forget about it.)
  23. I can say positively I will never have any of those kits in my stash
  24. It is getting there Greg. Today I will attempt to paint my 64 Belvedere black (my fourth attempt at getting a smooth painted surface) and maybe even my 64 Dodge red (my third attempt). I am expecting better results with the VL airbrush (I just got) over the Harbor fright dual action. Glad I have two sets of bodies to work with. I can be prepping one while the other soaks in the pond. Hope you can find time to work on it after doing all the storm cleanup.
  25. Not sure what size you need but check out Walmart for wire they show some in 22 and 24 Ga.
